I have never said we shouldn't invest. My argument is and always will be. We should invest wisely.
If that means missing out on targets, or not signing anyone in a particular transfer window, as long as it is done for the right reasons, I see that as a positive.
I don't want to just sign players, if a deal can be done for the right player, then I'm all for it.
It doesn't even have to be significant spending, but we need to stop with this idea that buying prospects is the only path forward.
Amiga keeps talking and apparently praising our model but yet we spunked 35 million on an unproven kid, probably one of the most daft signings a club of our level has ever made.
Semedo is another, so we sold Doc for what 20 mill? And bought Semdo for 30+ mill? Can anyone honestly say we have improved at wing back? I think Semedo is probably a more gifted player on the ball and may suit a different style but as yet we haven't changed our style so replacing Doc has achieved nothing to me and not to mention the further ten million on Hoever.
Meanwhile, while doing this we have ignored two key areas where we have been lacking for a while.

So we both agree we haven't been spending wisely at least.
I personally think we have been doing pretty well in the transfer market. buying players is not an exact science, you can only ever do what you think is right at the time.
I don't necessarily agree with every signing we have made. Velejo even on loan was one of them, I even said so over on Mol Mix and was attacked vehemently by other fans for my opinion.
But I see signings like Ait superb moves, Chan seems a no brainer. I am not convinced by Trincao.
Does this mean I know more than anyone else? who knows? but it goes to show, building a squad runs a lot deeper then simply spending money.
I am not convinced about Trincao either, but he did play well second half against Brighton, as most of them did, not sure he is a finisher though
