Had VAR been available last night I suspect that might have been reviewed and a red could’ve been issued and we’d have no objections.

Every bit as much of a leg breaker as the tackle by Robertson on the Spurs player at the weekend.
But the ref last night seemed conscious of all the outrage from that game and went out of his way to be lenient towards Liverpool challenges.
It was a yellow regardless. Feet on the ground. Periera was too quick for him.

Even with VAR, like the Kane one, they would have checked it and found absolutely nothing wrong with his nationality. Even in real time you can clearly see that he is English, so is not a red.

The age old problem of inconsistent refereeing which will never change.
And when VAR came out I said it would have the same issues. For example how does Kane get away with something far worse that what AWB was sent off for against Young Boys. And most of us agreed that AWB was a fair sending off.
