Wolves are the only team in the Premier League not to have conceded a goal from a dead ball situation this season. Has to be a compliment not only to our defenders but also to the coaching staff
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No problem with the defence, just need to sort out the midfielders and forwards.
Overall we have done extremely well with our minimalist squad.
Happy New Year to all on here and our supporters where ever they are and especially the team.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes it's alright saying we have to sort out the midfielders and the forwards but it's not as simple as that. We can't just throw money at it, we have to spend wisely.......................
Oh shiite, I can't keep a straight face whilst I'm typing this
Happy New Year Boston
Two days of this horror show left yet, lets not get complacent, lets make sure it actually facks off!!
You think next year's going to be any better? We were all saying good riddance to 2020 this time last year

He He.
Wolves evidently restricted in what they can do in the transfer market by FFP.
Meanwhile things seem ok at Chelsea who have just announced losses in 20/21 of £146m and have debts of £2b but were able to sign Lukaku for £97.5m

Unbelievable, it makes you lose faith in football.
Yeah whole thing is a farce
It just highlights what a closed shop 'the big 6' is. There is simply no way to break into that club on a long term basis.

Yes of course you're right Cinci, I had never thought of it that way. I just assumed that if you spend lots of money you will get lots of good players and then you can compete with the best.
Cinci, that is probably one of the most sensible posts, you have ever made

Nope, false, when will you ever get it Gem, deary me. You are just like Blackcountry and Boston <shakingheadindismay>
When you look at the type of players we need then Rafa Mir and Vitanha would go as close as most to fitting the bill.
With injuries at Seville and ACON absentees Mir will be the main striker at the club in Jan in what gives him a great chance to step up his career
Vitinha last night had the great experience of playing the full 90 minutes of Portugal’s biggest game as Porto beat Benfica 3-1 to go top of the league. And he got the assist for Porto’s match clinching 3rd goal
I along with others on here really felt that Vitanha would become a good player, unfortunately the powers that be felt otherwise.

In the transfer market, it’s quite an important part of the equation though.
You know a good time to strengthen a squad? When you have just had back to back seventh place finishes.
You know a bad time? When you have just had a dour season and then follow it up with the fewest goals in a calendar year since 1922.

Wait a minute? Are you saying we need to spend wisely and not throw money around despite Black Country quite clearly saying that if you look very closely between the lines of his post?
Cinci, I am pointing out how you do it. not arguing the obvious that we need to spend.
You will get it one day Cinci.
Lage has stated in his press conference that he's looking for a cb, winger and a "different" striker. Not sure we need another winger tbh unless of course, one is leaving. Surprised they're not looking at centre midfield too.
Personally I would made an attacking goal scoring midfielder our top priority

Makes you wonder if the winger is already lined up. Seems an odd move but hopefully means Traore is going elsewhere.
I actually do see Traore moving on. Simply because he is not signing a new contract, not because we want to let him go.
Like Spangles I am surprised we are not making a move for a midfielder? but Lage is the guy in charge.
