Pellistri is on loan isn't he and by all accounts not doing very well there either despite it being a much poorer standard.

Imagine my surprise.....

As for Amad......he's played less than 350 mins of first team football in 12 months for us, what on earth do we when we sign these players? We literally just throw money away.

Is it time that we gave Possebon and De Laet a chance?

Hannibal has been picked by Morocco for the ACN.

Amad did get injured, but looked the part when played.
I heard the same about Pellistri, but the few minutes he had with us he looked good.

Amad was a pointless buy. Especially as we then bought Sancho.

Wouldn’t say that. If he turns into a top player he’ll be well worth it. A lot of our attackers are ageing or want out.

I’d genuinely be shocked if Amad was a United player in 2 years

I’m just not sure he’s good enough but hope he proves he wrong.

i know we were about to send amad on loan at the beginning of the season before he got injured, apparently he's not been selected for the afcon and we're looking to send him out somewhere (belgium i think he was off to earlier)

Amad is still young but he’s also at an age where most players who are going to be very good are beginning the impact the 1st team but he looks miles away.

I think it was Feyenoord. Probably wouldn't be a bad move for him if it's resurrected in January. I wouldn't write him off just yet.

Always thought Pellistri was a strange one. Was recommended by Forlan apparently and United were at peak "put trust in former players' judgement" at that time. His stats weren't even impressive in Uruguay, though he was obviously young.

Pellistri won’t make it at United.

against Slippy's Villa in the FA Cup, Ralf needs to put out what he thinks is his very best team.

United have 2 realistic chances of 'glory' this season. The FA Cup and finishing 4th (The New Arsenal). And we should go for them. Save blooding kids for the sake of it for another day. However if he thinks they are good enough then they are old enough and should play.

I doubt we will ever see the likes of the class of 92 again. Certainly not any time soon.

None of our current crop of youngsters look like stepping up when they have been given the chance.

Agree. Winning the FA Cup would be great especially for some of our players that have never won a thing.

And I always loved the cup.

In that list, I feel only Hannibal could make it, maybe Mengi. Even then, we know how few actually transition into the first team and become top players.

What I have seen of the youngsters at adult level, is a bunch of players too weak to compete.

To think we could repeat a class of ‘92 is a little ambitious. Football and Utd are unrecognisable from the 90s.

Very few of our current crop of highly paid, international, bench warmers have looked like stepping up when required, either. Never mind the youth team players.

posted on 31/12/21

totally disagree with the OP.

we need a trophy in the cabinet and playing a bunch of players who are nowhere near ready is not the way to go about it.

you only have to look at teams like utd and liverpool etc put out in the EFL cup... 9 times out of 10 these teams lose to the likes of lincoln city and sunderland because even that step up is too great.

by all means throw one in here and there, but to throw them all in is cup suicide

We need to be patient with our youngsters, then they will be instant successes. We shouldn't put too much pressure and expectation on them, then they will become the best players in the world.

The class of '92 is something that is highly unlikely to happen any time soon. Chelsea are currently the best at developing and producing youth and it seems like a big reason for that is the money they're pumping into it.

I think even with the state of this club in recent years we've still done really well at giving youth a change and bringing them through.

I agree that it is highly unlikely that we have another class of 92.
But I think giving them a few minutes here or there doesn't tell you much.
I don't think the first team is good enough to achieve much this season, but hope for top four.
So, yes I'd give them a big opportunity.

it was only a year ago that a utd u21 team including Pellestri, Hannibal, shortshire and elanga lost 4-0 to morecambe
