The order they appear on the list:

Giggs

Rooney

Beckham

Sheringham

Cole

Young

Cantona

Scholes

Mata

RVP

Yorke

Valencia

Nani
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Phil Jones

Nani has 43 assists, equal with Salah.

Next to them, is Trent, with 42.

Happy with getting the ones lower down the list, even if it did take a load of guesses.

Where'd you get the list from? Did you only have 10, or is the list longer?

It was something online, just 10 yes unfortunately.

And yes, the Ribery one was particularly difficult I thought, so congrats on that.

Another underrated player, mainly disliked for being a bit of a cant and looking like Frankenstein's ugly brother, which is adding insult to injury when you think of it. Was one of the world's best footballers round about the second half of the 2010s imo. Bayern's flat out refusal to sell him to Madrid really laid down a marker for them I reckon.

So Messi has a combined 1000 assists/goals or thereabouts in pro Football
On top of that he drops deep and starts the ball rolling!

yes definitely someone I wished United had offered for, before he went to Bayern.

Never knew you’d bid for him, not often you don’t get your man, any figures reported?

Didn’t know how he penalty shootout format would work but it went quite well.

Might be something in that for more subjects.

Yeah. It was quite the story over here, and took place at a time when Bayern had been struggling to assert themselves domestically and obtaining sub-par results in Europe, while Florentino was back and flexing Madrid's financial muscle again.

Madrid's opening bid was 50M euros, but had apparently already agreed terms with Ribéry, which incensed Bayern, who rejected several improved offers. Ribéry I think refused to train at one point, while Madrid went all the way up to 80M, but Bayern were adamant that they would not be pushed around.

Bayern went on to do the domestic double and played Inter for the treble in the CL final.

posted on 5/1/22

Fcking hell, so he did want the move, but didn’t sulk when he didn’t get it I presume, if Bayern did that well?

80m in 2010 was World record money still, or had Bale arrived by then?

No, Bale was several years later, right after Mourinho left. 2013 I think. 2009 I think was the same year as Ronaldo, Alonso, Kaká, Benzema and a couple of others. Pérez went completely mental that season, which was right after Pep's Barcelona had cleaned up at home and in Europe.

Ribéry did well for them, but I don't think he was as decisive as Robben. That CL final also pitted Robben against Sneijder, both of whom Madrid had just sold to make room for some of the names above. Pellegrini actually spoke out against the Sneijder sale at the time, which many saw as the first nail in his coffin.
