They seem to be playing well, watched parts of the Reading game and they we're a lot better than the home side. They seem to be using the point deduction as in inspiration/motivator in staying up. Leeds did the same back when we docked 15 points, we reached the playoff final that season which is an incredible achievement that seems to have been forgotten about.
As a Derby fan, I never thought that WR would be able to take us forward, even before the points deduction!
But he has shown that he is quite shrewd with his management under extreme circumstance. Also he has ably assisted by Liam Rosenior & their backroom staff.
I honestly don't think we will be able to pull it off, as we are still in limbo with the takeover & 2 clubs wanting compensation from us, which is seemingly holding up the takeover, so we cant extend contracts of the likes of Jagielka & sign any loans.
We could still end up being liquidated.
Hard not to admire the job Wazza is doing there under the circumstances he has been put in.
If Derby can stay up he will probably deserve Championship manager of the season.

It is quite funny that Barry Smith took over Dundee who had a 25 point deduction, leaving them 20 points adrift at the bottom of the table. He then took them on a 23 game unbeaten run despite only being allowed to register players for 2 games at a time. So he used a fan and a 50 year old over the season. Dundee finished in 6th. Can Rooney emulate his hero Barry Smith and keep Derby up? We shall see.

We tell our children stories about Barry Smith but when they grow up they come to realise he doesn't exist: he was just a fiction that our society saw fit to invent in order to make sense of life's mysteries.

I'm also surprised how well he is doing. He never came across as the most cerebral footballer (though also definitely not the thick character many assumed based on his accent and belligerent image).
Whatever happens, I wish Derby the best in the long run. One of the traditional, real community-based football clubs in England.
Hope he does it for Derby’s fans
No love lost between Leeds and Derby or Leeds and ex Man U players but I for one as a devoted Leeds fan hope Rooney can keep Derby up... It would be real Roy of the Rovers stuff but I think it's definitely possible and probably go down in footballing history as the greatest escape ever.

Thank you genuinely for all the heartwarming comments from across JA’s boards
If nothing else we’ve given ourselves a fighting chance and it sounds like we’ve got positive vibes regarding the takeover.
I hope Derby get relegated and rot away in League 1 - as for their spud-head granny sh@ggin manager - I hope he goes with them
