He is a liar with a track-record of lying throughout his career. Work event my erse, who gets a written email invitation to a work event and told to BYOB? And, if it was a work event why was his mistress at a work event?

I was watching PMQ's a little earlier but had to turn off because I couldn't bear to look at or listen to him. At the time this party took place, my late wife was seriously ill in hospital (not Covid), in a room on her own, so for one month, the only contact we had was 2 x 5 minute daily phone calls (A nurse held a phone for her).
This "man" makes me sick to my stomach, I hope against hope that he's unable to wriggle out of this one, but I won't hold my breath.

He's only human and is just showing that he is one of us. Who here can honestly say that they haven't had an illegal party with lots of people whilst they were the leader of the country and setting the rules, whilst people were dying alone? We've all done it. His sincere apology should be enough and I sincerely apologise for murdering that guy last week but can we please wait for the details to come out of an inquiry into the murder of the guy I murdered and for now can we just get on with things because I've apologised?

I don't like him at all. But it's become a bit of a witch hunt to oust him, this particular issue a storm in a teacup. Why can't people get more offended by everything else he's terrible at?

I agree Wetherby, he's a poor PM in my view, but this particular "transgression" has hit me hard as per my comment above.
In some ways, I hope he stays on because he's a "Boris Bonus" for the other parties.

I'm really sorry I got caught but it was an accident and we need to wait for the outcome of the enquiry anyway because I don't even know what happened even though I was there because it was me.

The man is a cvnt.

Being terrible at something is not a sacking or resignation event even though politicians set new standards for the latter on a regular basis.

He's done wrong, but the media will be talking about this non stop for the next 3 weeks, they wont just let it go. He's apologised, so what are they going to do apart from hound him until he quits

Probably - they have hits to achieve so if there's a chance to generate more that's their job. If by stoking opinion to influence the decision makers to prolong the story and hits then that's what they'll do.

If Novak wanted to avoid a story he could just have done it right or told the truth. Fack all sympathy after the multiple hours I've spent trawling travel and government sites to understand rules and get my forms right shatting myself that errors will cost me thousands, contacting foreign governments seeking clarification and still shatting myself it goes tats up. He's got someone to do that for him. Maybe they'll get sacked or maybe they were colluding with him all along? Who knows?

Conservative MPs have avoided the subject, instead asking questions on different issues including asking question on a new bill to make washing machines safer.

Hope the public remember this as well as all the other lies that have been told by him and his party. Easy to focus the blame on him, but he wasn't alone in that garden and it wasnt the only work meeting theyve had in those gardens.

he and the other 100 people there should hang their heads in shame, just another example of "do as i say, not as i do"

They won't hang any heads. They'll laugh about it at their metropolitan dinner parties assuming they avoid penalty. Us the little people are largely powerless.

As for the ballot box, as ever economics will be the primary driver and folk will hold their nose and put their cross against the least worst outcome they perceive.

He's a fud

Feel really bad for that Sue Gray woman that's doing this enquiry as he has effectively made her kingmaker

Imho....no inquiry is needed, this drinks party thing is just the latest in a long line of "incidents" that this ersehole of a man and his government have been found out over......other prime minister's would have been hunted far much much less, this buffoon seems to be bloody infallible

Get to fck, no inquiry needed

As for the Met....fcking joke
There is one reason, and only one reason why they have so far kept shtum on all of this.....it's met police officers on the gate at Downing Street and at the front door.

If folk had been invited in for drinks, they would've known all about it

When Boris was offered the job of “Party Leader” do you think he misunderstood the brief?

its not an enquiry, its a storyboard.

"boris saw a butterfly, and started to follow the butterfly and ended up at the party, but it was such a beautiful butterfly that boris didn't even see anyone at the party, and thats what happened".

I can imagine you would mate. Sure you had plenty of good years to look back on though so you'll always have something.
