Rashy should sue United and donate his pay out to poor kids.

Don't care about them.

More football is better.

I think Rashford is mentally weak.

No denying that being a pro is a demanding thing, having to perform consistently in front of millions of arm chair experts. It must be very demanding requires mental toughness to match the ability.

Not everyone has it and he strikes me as that sort. In the big moment, you would not put your house on him and when the chips are down, they seem really down with him. Tougher players come through it quicker and stronger, he's been in a slump for ages.

I put it down to confidence. Whether it was the injuries or over playing him that caused it I don't know.
But anyone who plays sport knows that in form everything comes easily, out of form even simple things become difficult.

I just wonder whether he is still as focused on football as he was. Only people that know him or work with him will know, but to look at him and see the other stuff he does outside of football, while noticing his performances on the pitch have gone down, it can only make you question if he is putting all the effort in.

I look at that haircut for instance, and people can think it's entirely frivolous, but I ask why do people get haircuts like that? And the reason is because of themselves. It's about them and what image they want to put out. It has nothing to do with playing football, so that already gets you thinking if their mind is fully on their job, in the same way I view Dele these days.

Dele does have completely ridiculous hair doesn't he?

I've said this before, but under Ole, Rashford was afforded the kind of tactical liberties you'd ordinarily only reserve for world class players. He came onto the scene as an explosive, humble and hardworking player, but in the last few seasons was allowed to "cheat" (as Gary Neville sometimes calls it) by staying higher and not doing so much work coming back the other way.

We saw some improvements in his goal outputs a result, but we're also now really seeing some fairly lackadaisical work out of possession, some poor body language and a player who seems to have lost himself on the pitch. When we tactically have another player who isn't the best at that side of the game in Greenwood, we're creating problems for ourselves, particular with an often stranded pair in central midfield.

I can fully understand giving a dangerous attacking player some extra liberties going forward versus defensive output, but Rashford's game hasn't been developed along side it. I don't blame Rashford here. I think he's been poorly coached, overplayed through injuries and has lost a lot of confidence as a result.

Hey if you have a silly haircut and you're doing the business on the pitch then fair enough. I suppose Beckham was like that.

If you aren't then it just makes you look even sillier.

Back to the OP, Red Russian. I made a similar article below. There are far too many games being played these days, specially the top teams. You're looking at over 50 games in 10months of high intensity football which is no doubt putting strain on every part of the body.

The World Cup every 2 years is an obvious money-making scheme. It doesn't benefit anyone but FIFA really.

interesting new take to blame his woes at the moment on his hairstyle rather than feeding starving children... but hey, I am prepared to go with it

Sorry I missed your article. Did I repeat all the stuff you already said? Totally agree with you on the two-year World Cup cycle. The latest I heard was that FIFA (trying to get political support from UEFA) are suggesting we could make the Euros every two years as well.

(Every December I tell my children it's not because I hate Christmas: the magic is greater if you only have the tree up for a week.)

No no, didn't repeat much at all, just highlighted a few players who had a large amount of minutes played by the time they were 24 and the drop-off later on in their careers.

It's sad to see football going this way, what's funny is that Arsene said that fans would like the idea of a World Cup every 2 years, not sure which fans he was talking to, if any.

The last 2 years have congested the football schedule so much, with Covid, and now the Winter world cup coming up, it's a bit of a joke really. Rangnick called for the League cup to be scrapped, he wasn't wrong. Every other domestic league they tend to have only one cup as well.

I am not blaming it on his hairstyle, I'm saying his hairstyle could be a product of a lack of focus on football, perhaps along with his off-field activities.

It's not exactly a new line of thinking though. We know it's the kind of thing Keane or Fergie would take issue with.

im not one of these who blames ole for overplaying him.

the problem is there is far too much money at stake in todays games and because of this managers will always push for their best players to be playing.

people will say ole was selfish in doing so, but truth be told if anyone of us was in the same position and fighting to keep our jobs or pushing and trying to win trophies we would do exactly the same thing

Yes because Keane and Fergie are boomers as well.

Anyone notice that Mane’s dip in form coincided with him getting that blonde line through his hair?

It's circular logic though, isn't it? Take any underperforming player and if their hair doesn't look like Stuart Pearce's, then you could say it's "symptomatic".

It's a generational thing. Young men these days take a bit more care over their appearance.
