The only way the UK is remotely salvageable would be a move to proportional representation and a permanent end to single party rule, and that's never going to happen because "that's how Hitler got in!"

They say Labour can't win Westminster without Scotland, but equally Scotland can't win Westminster without England, and England only votes Labour when Labour lurches to the right. It's lose - lose. And while I agree that Boris is awful, he alone isn't a good reason to back indy. The true problem is that Boris is just a symptom, and Westminster and UK politics will continue to be awful long after he's gone.

Writing off the question of currency is an idiotic take when experts predict our currency will be devalued 20%, that impacts quality of life, and health follows.

Don’t get the obsession with Westminster.

Education, health, justice, rural affairs, housing, environment, equal opportunities, consumer advocacy and advice, transport and taxation are all devolved powers.

The list of reserved powers has absolutely nothing in it that I care or about or is vote on.

People get WAY too emotive about currency. Just a token.

I wonder how in fack Denmark population 5.2m has survived with its own currency within the EU and setting its own interest rates, currently 0.6% below the Euro bloc's 0% yet maintained a virtually constant exchange rate? Baffling.

This old chestniut. Scotland is not Denmark. Or Noway, Sweden or Iceland.
Those countries predate the EU, the current globalised world we live in and many other things.
For an independent Scotland to establish it as a prosperous nation would take a miracle.
The whole Indy argument was based on North Sea gas and oil reserves. That argument’s gone now, beyond the very short term.

Absolute delusion.
Support for independence in Scotland is dropping and significantly below 50%.
If somehow they was another referendum it’s likely the Yes side would lose again given the current volatility in the world and the move away from fossil fuels.
And why the hell would an EU struggling want another drain on its previous resources by allowing a bankrupt independent Scotland to join?
Remind me again, what’s your currency going to be?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Well that's me changed my mind. Thanks for asking all those important questions that us simple Scottish folk had never thought of before.

Na TMQ, I want to stay in this house that's burning down.
I don't care if the SNP have ten fire engines just around the corner, Nicola Sturgeon looks like Jimmy Crankie.
