Didn't Lo Celso cost over £50m in the end?

£15m loan fee plus £27m to make perm.
Just read Markanday is on the verge to moving to Blackburn for £500k rising to £1m. He wants first team football with Spurs but we want to loan him out.
From his point of view he is doing the right thing. Constantly overlooked for a younger lad in Scarlett.

Markanday not in the circle of friendship with Mason.
At least there is a sell on clause so if he does smash it we can buy him back at a discount.
We have to have the worse scouting network of all the regular premier league sides
It’s embarrassing
Spurs transfer buys for years have in the main been pretty shocking. That lot alone have been a complete waste of space in the main.
Romero could be next. Needs a run of games obviously but he could easily be dogged by injuries. I want him to do well but with history of signing which cost north of £30m he could easily flop.
Technically he is still on loan and will be made permenant this summer.
I am old enough to remember when Spurs used to buy real gems in the transfer market.
Danny Blanchflower
Bobby Smith
Les Allen
Cliff Jones
Bill Brown
Dave Mackay
John White
Jimmy Greaves
Pat Jennings
Cyril Knowles
Mike England
Martin Chivers
Martin Peters
Ossie Ardilles
Ricky Villa
Garth Crooks
Steve Archibald
Gary Lineker
Paul Gascoigne
etc, etc, etc
All of those contributed an exceptional amount to our great club. I cannot think of one thing our modern signings are contributing to Spurs 2022.

For a club with one of the best stadiums and facilities, and a top club status, it's laughable the way we do our deals in the market and that tag of "cheapskate" the Levy has!

Let me make this clear:
Markanday's fee (to Blackburn) would pay for Ndombele's wages for the next 5 weeks.
Sad status of the club whereby money is being spent badly.
Markanday only has 6months remaining on his current deal and has never played in the prem. One sub appearence in the ropey league. He is your typical Spurs youth team player at 5ft 7inches or so.
The fee reflects his profile I guess and he has proven nothing with the big boys. Obviously it would have been nice to see him given a chance.
Read we have taken a 19 year old on trial from Ramsgate who was rejected by Palace. Scored 19 goals in the non league and he is 6ft 2. Could be Markanday's replacement?
