Wouldn't be the worst thing if there was a buy back clause.
Ridiculous he hasn't been given a chance yet, good move for him. (Blackburn for half a mill)
He's out of contract in the summer and is not signing a new one, wanting first team football.
Unfortunately I would say now is not the best time to have him playing in the first team if we have aspirations for top 4. I'd trust Conte in that respect.
But we are in a bit of a tough situation. usually we do new contract and loan, so maybe we should throw a bit more money at him and send him out.

He doesn't exactly fit Conte's style either does he?
If you were him and saw a younger 17 year old Scarlett being constantly picked ahead of him(even on the bench) then DM has done the right thing. Be interested to see how he does in the championship. Good luck to him.

Markanday also made odd appearances in the squad like scarlett. That's not a path to consistent first team minutes.
We've had multiple promising youth players run their contracts down and leave because they don't see a pathway here. Whether or not those concerns are justified is another discussion but players are going to keep leaving until we alleviate those concerns. Obviously we can't keep them all happy but we don't want to lose another player like say madueke who was being talked about as a £30-40 million player in the summer

Again I'll throw this at Hitchen and backroom. Paratici joined when Markanday was already in final year of contract. Club obviously didn't value him before the season started and Markanday is making them pay for it by leaving on a free. I actually don't blame him.
