I just heard on the radio that rafa maybe getting sacked. Such a shame he was doing a great job.

The funniest thing was some of their fans want rafa to be sacked and replaced by Wayne Rooney, because he is doing a great job at Derby

Have you forgotten that Coutinho binned you? I know it worked in you favour but he still used you as a stepping stone.

He was immense for us, we sold him for £140m, used the money to sign Alisson and Van Dijk and won the league.

If that's "used us as a stepping stone" then great.

He always is. Its actually Liverpool that used Coutinho as a stepping stone. We went on to win all the big ones and he became a journeyman.

Dear Lord, did none of you morons read the part where I posted it turned out well for you? Not one of you wanted him to leave, you were blubbering like babies when he jumped ship. It was the same when Suarez and Torres left, the only reason you've forgiven him is because you spent the money wisely and he flopped.

He used your club as a stepping stone, the fact you benefited from it doesn't change that. He crapped on you and now you're fawning over him because he helped Villa to a draw against Utd. Typical Scousers, no shame. I say Scousers, are any of you plastics from Liverpool? You never seem to go the game.

Can we find some more players that use us as steppings stones in that case?

Sounds like a great deal to me.

Liverpool fans will need to explain to me why Benitez is meant to be so good? Since leaving Pool, the job he did at Chelsea was arguably the best one & that was just passable.

He's clearly a decent manager, but this idea he's one of the best of his gen I can't figure out for the life of me.

Only manager to break the Madrid Barca domination of La Liga well before the Simeone era when he was at Valencia with a squad of what was supposed to be far inferior players. Won CL and FA cup with Liverpool and got to another final. Would have won the Prem if it wasn't for Howard Webb and company.

The Valencia job is the one I won't take away from him. They were a really good team, played some cracking football aswell when I saw them in Europe. However I would preface that by saying Barca & Real were a bit of a shambles at that time - was the period where Real were hiring jokers like Luxemburgo to manage a team of individual stars. Simeone has had to deal with much stronger superpowers at Atletico.

All the rest? Don't see it. Liverpool job (from the outside) was good but not amazing. Chelsea he just about did enough & he did alright at Newcastle. It's not enough.

Were they? I don't think so.

Then why didn't any other clubs surpass them? There were other clubs you'd have expected to capitalise but didn't. Why only Valencia? Not fair to take away from the achievement like that.

Both were having massive problems yes. Barcelona were scarping top 4 finishes until Rijkaard came in, and Real were so confused they happily sold Makelele to us convinced only attacking players win football matches

I wasn't taking away from the job he did there, but did feel the need to stress an opening was available. Credit to him & Valencia for seizing it

Madrid had won the league the previous season before Valencia won it. Madrid won the following season followed by Valencia again and then Barca in 04/05.

Madrid could not have been confused as they had just won LaLiga when they sold Makelele to Chelsea.
