Adama Traore to Tottenham is *OFF*

The play has decided he no longer wants the move and would prefer to remain at Wolverhampton.

He is expected to sign the contract wolves put on the table in September in the next weeks.

5 games Traore started that we lost were the first three games of the season where I think most would say him and Wolves were excellent and we didn’t deserve to lose any of those games. And against Liverpool and Man City where we gave the best teams in the country a good run for their money.

Interesting. I think it is definitely worth keeping hold of him till the end of the season anyway, as he makes a huge impact from the bench. I think £20 million is a low offer really, when you consider it is strengthening a rival for the top 6 and the potential financial benefits of getting into Europe.

I don't think he is worth being our highest paid player, but if his demands have lowered then signing a new contract is good news. Might lead to us getting a bigger fee if we do sell him in the summer.

Actually, it should be 6 losses as we lost against Brentford when he started as well.

So effectively we have only lost 1 game that Adama didn't start, which was against Crystal Palace.

So 6 of our 7 losses this season have come when Traore started.

What a bad omen he is. Shows what a great season we’ve had that only the Brentford defeat was one due to a poor Wolves performance. Personally I think we played better in some of those defeats than in some of the games we didn’t lose. Guess that’s just how football is and how Jose Sa is

We were poor at Palace as well actually

Looks like a fake.
Sky sports news reporting that the transfer is virtually done.
Shame if so. I'm not a big fan of Traore but I think he's worth more to us than £20 mill.

Most reports suggest Traore is close to signing for Spurs. Potential fly in the ointment is question marks are arising on whether Conte will stick with Spurs. Reports saying he could return to Italy, possibly with AC Milan

Yes, looks like he's definitely on his way. The big questions are: for how much? and will Bruno have a chance to spend any of it?

Interesting video online of the Traore goal on Saturday. The line on the pitch was drawn a fraction too early. When the ball leaves Neves foot, Traore was onside

Not a bad omen. Just doesn't press as well as the rest of our forwards, so we aren't as good as a unit. It's reflected in the stats when he starts in terms of wins and goals conceded (we concede less when he doesn't start too).

He is excellent as an impact player off the bench though.

Why? Would be an unwise decision to keep a 20 million quid player on the bench. We don't have the funds to have that kind of money playing 15 minutes a week. Amiga would rip you a new one if he saw this.

It's taken Cameroon half an hour to score past the keeper-less Comoros team. Just came close to an equaliser too.

Chiquito is playing for the u23s tonight at Sunderland.

I think the wisdom in keeping him is that he is good company on the bench for our £35million wonder kid.

Regards the offside goal, it highlights Traore’s lack of a football brain really. With his blistering pace he should never have to go early, so shouldn’t really ever be caught offside.

I made that point about when the line is drawn a few weeks ago. That presumably is in the hands of the ref at Stockley Park, so is there another ref watching him ?

To be fair, if keeping Traore as an option on the bench helps to win the odd game with him coming on as an impact sub and we get into a European competition; then the amount we will lose on him from keeping him an extra 6 months will be insignificant.

Another article about how Wolves play. Funny but from reading this you would think Traore is a key player for us

Yeah, to be fair I was all for cashing in on Traore when he had all the overblown hype, that was our BIG mistake given what he has given us since that time is fairly little.

At this stage I don't think it makes too much difference. If we had a good player lined up, lets say Sanches, and someone has to leave to get that done then yeah lets do it for sure, we would be much better off as a squad. But I don't expect the club to manage to bring anyone of that calibre in right now.

So with that said, I don't care if he goes or not at this point, we won't lose too much of his value by summer so it isn't urgent unless for the reason I mentioned above.

Let us be quite clear here, a KEY player doesn't spend half his time on the bench ffs. A useful player on his day? Yeah. Key? not in a million years.

So key that they give him a rating of 6/10 for the season.

It’s one of the most annoying things to me about how Var has adversely affected the game. I’ve heard a few pundits saying offside is black and white and shouldn’t be disputed. But it isn’t. The technology doesn’t exist to spot the exact moment the ball is played. So drawing a line on the pitch is a guess. If it is drawn one pixel too soon or too late the result could be different. As it was with Traore’s goal on Saturday
