Molmix is hilarious. People are genuinely talking about top four as if it is actually possible and getting defensive when told otherwise

Cinci claimed Wolves would finish between 11th and 15th. So what he thinks should be taken with a pinch of salt.

As for finishing 4th, unlikely, but more than possible. One things for sure we are one of the teams that might be able to do it.

Just a realist. We have as much chance of fourth as Burnley.

Cinci if you were a realist you would say that we have as much chance of fourth as Spurs, Arsenal, West Ham or Man U.
Most posters on here are either glass half full or glass half empty types but you take pessimism to a whole new (low) level.
I'm pretty certain we won't finish the season in the top 4 and would be amazed if we make the top 6 but we have a very real chance of 7th or 8th either of which I would be delighted with.

I am not being pessimistic. I was one of the few embracing the new manager and quite content with this season without any pressure whilst others were pant wetting early season.

What a joke of a club Watford are. They have sacked Ranieri. 74 year-old Roy Hodgson is expected to take over soon.

I think there is a possibility we could finish above one or two of West Ham, Spurs or Arsenal. I'd expect Man United and possibly one of the others to pull away from us as the season goes on.

With our squad as it is, we are only an injury or two from falling away completely at the moment though.

In other news, Thomas Frank has been charged with improper conduct by the FA.
Sad Danish likes to dish it out but can't take it.

That is exactly it. We are going to have to be very fortunate injury wise to maintain good form. Not to mention Utd and Spurs and even Arsenal have been a shat show at times this season but still sit ahead of us after what is our best run in the prem ever.

West Ham could potentially falter, given Europe is involved for them but i wouldn't rule out teams behind us catching us either.

No, I tend to agree with you, just repeating the reply to what I assumed was your comment on molmix for a jape. Or if celebrity wolf isnt you, its someone with a very similar view

No I don't hate Cinci, Just pointing out his arguments are all over the place. He dismissed 8th, now dismissing 4th. Not saying he is wrong. Just that it is stupid to dismiss the it.

For me realism is: that we are very likely to finish in the top 10; that 7th or 8th is quite a reasonable prospect; that 4th or 5th is quite unlikely; and that top 3 is out of the question

posted on 25/1/22

A top ten finish would be great given the circumstances. Bruno has done brilliantly.

posted on 25/1/22

I have no idea why you imagine Wolves incapable of a top ten finish this season Cinci?

I had an Albion fan saying we will be in the bottom half. I told him then, I expected a top half finish. and seeing how the club have grown. a top 4 and a cup is not beyond the realms of possibility. however unlikely.

Too many people underestimate just how good our squad is. Sure it lacks depth, but if we can keep players fit, then you would be a fool to write them off.

posted on 25/1/22

I'm not sure cinci has the confidence in our squad tbh. In my HC League, if his predictions came true, we'd be on 18 points and fighting relegation.

I have confidence in our first 15 or so. You won't have seen me criticise many of our players in recent years.

But the facts are we struggle to score goals and up til a few games ago we were pretty ugly to watch after the early promise of the first few games. A couple of injuries and we will struggle to put any wins on the board, we have zero cover for Moutinho or Neves and there role in the team.

We should finish top ten at this stage, would be disappointing not to, but this is a work in progress and for us to make the big steps into the key places we will have to add to it or we will drop off. Nothing shocking about this news, you can't play with a handful of players all season and get away with it often.

Cinci judges quality on the amount spent. He struggles to see value in young unproven talent. But that is exactly where Wolves need to operate.

It may take longer to develop, But Players Like SA, Ait, Kilman, Toti, Neves, Neto, Podence. None have broken the bank, But are all capable of playing for some of the best teams in the Prem.

Wolves are doing so much right, and making a mockery of teams spending far bigger budgets.

I don't judge quality on money spent at all. I was about the only one banging on about the necessity to keep Ait-Nouri and also think it would be daft to drop him for Jonny, which many will want to happen.

I was also one of the few banging Netos drum early, and Kilmans last season when Nuno insisted on dropping him time and again.

But you have to find a balance, we can't just keep adding promising youngsters and think that is going to catapult us into the top six, it won't.

Sadly this is true. I know he is a decent guy, but he really fails to see the positive things going on in our club.

Which is why he predicts Wolves only capable of 11th to 15th place finish this season. I would have been surprised by anything less than a top ten (barring injury)
