Bruno had a reputation for blooding youngsters and we are seeing that, especially with Kilman who looked like he was flogging a dead horse under Nuno and looked likely to be out the door soon enough.
Bruno has also continually said we need players, so presumably he only bases quality on money spent also, as do the club apparently, given they were trying to bring players in during the summer but failed to do so.

Amiga thinks so little of Cinci.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sadly this is true. I know he is a decent guy, but he really fails to see the positive things going on in our club.
Which is why he predicts Wolves only capable of 11th to 15th place finish this season. I would have been surprised by anything less than a top ten (barring injury)
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The thing what makes me laugh with you is how you go on and on about how right we are doing things as though we haven't made errors but yet we are now eighth which is lower than the two seventh place finishes we had, so we haven't made any strides forward in three years, that is a fact until it is proven otherwise.
comment by Cinciwolf--Whiney and easily offended! (U11551)
I don't judge quality on money spent at all. I was about the only one banging on about the necessity to keep Ait-Nouri and also think it would be daft to drop him for Jonny, which many will want to happen.
I was also one of the few banging Netos drum early, and Kilmans last season when Nuno insisted on dropping him time and again.
But you have to find a balance, we can't just keep adding promising youngsters and think that is going to catapult us into the top six, it won't.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There you go again Cinci, writing off a top six finish, when we are literally knocking on the door. This squad is more than capable. And banging on about certain players is much easier when they have come,
but how many would you have signed over someone like sanchez? I can pretty much guarantee non. Which would have not have seen us progress any quicker, almost certainly the opposite.
Cinci all clubs will make errors, The trick is not making too many. Wolves have been doing that, as the list of names has shown.
Everton not so much.

As for signing youngsters, I have said for several seasons that has to be part of our business plan.
No wind up Cinci, but you are one of the most vocal, and sadly the most wrong. I'm just pointing that out.
Like I said Cinci, I have known you too long, and know you are a decent guy. Me and you just disagree on how the club should be run, and how well that is happening.

Wrong about what? Our back to back seventh place finishes were on the back of proper signings. We have now gone down a kids route and haven't matched those heights yet? Again, that isn't made up, it is a fact until we do match those heights. And I bet we don't match those heights without quality additions.
Like I said earlier, this season is going very well considering, but we have scored fewer goals than everyone bar Burnley and Norwich despite being forward heavy in our squad. Even a slight drop in our defensive numbers and we will struggle to put wins on the board.

So are you saying we are definitely not getting into the top six? remember not so long ago you said 11th to 15th was all we could achieve.
Silva was a waste of money? I said time will tell, you cover yourself by saying we need someone now, but then say buying young talent is part of the plan.
You see us finish 8th, and now anything less than that is going backwards, such a simplistic reasoning.
You right off our transfer windows, then see players like Kilman, Ait, Neto, Sa come to the fore. I have said time and again, I do not care about signing players, If we sign nobody, I am satisfied it was because the club wasn't able to bring the right targets in.
If they spend big, I also trust that they have confidence in the decision they are making, and have done due diligence when making the decision, and not acted in desperation.
I won't go on Cinci, But you and me have very different ideas about running a football club.
I felt with the lack of depth we would finish 11th to 15th. Delighted that doesn't look to be the case, though 11th is still very much a possibility. That said though, the league table is compact this term below us and the gap is unusual, just a quick look shows more teams closer to 34 points last season.
I write off our windows as being relatively poor in recent times? Yes, I do. Some better windows in recent times and now we really would be going for top six.
As for this season, as you ask, yes, we will not in any world finish in the top six. I sincerely hope I am wrong. I won't be.
I do love how fickle footy fans are though
A month ago everyone was bemoaning the fact we couldn't score for shat and were playing negative ugly football. We beat a championship side and have a couple of good performances again and its top four.
Much prefer my non reactionary approach as opposed to the rollercoaster pant wetting some others display.
Well Cinci, 11th to 15th does look a little silly now doesn't it? It could still happen of course, but as long as nothing major happens to disrupt our season, we are looking up not down.
Yes you do write off our transfer windows, then claim player like Ait, Neto, Sa etc you spotted all along. These are not average players Cinci, they are top talent, capable of playing for the top teams in this division.
Better windows for you would be Sanches? a frankly ridiculous statement, as it takes into account nothing about form, injuries, cost, wages attitude. The guy has talent, and we might yet buy him. But dismissing a transfer window, because the club didn't sign a player you took a fancy to, is ridiculous.
From what I have seen, and am seeing, I will go out on a limb and say top six Cinci. either way, I always thought top ten, and if we continue with current form, I have already been more accurate with my predictions.
You heard it here guys, Cinci writing off top 6, I'm certainly not writing it off at all.
Anyway time for bed Cinci, at the end of the day we all just want Wolves to be successful
Wait? So i am a moron for wanting Sanches but if we sign Sanches then the club did great
Who ever said we don't make good additions? You are so literal. Man you make so little sense.
As for this season, i hope you are bang on and I am miles off, we shall see, but IF we fall down the table a bit I want a grovelling apology.
You're not allowed an opinion on who we should sign until the club have signed them Cinci. Then you have to praise the club for signing them. If we sign no one, you have to praise them for signing no one. Anyone who has an opinion contrary to what the club actually does is wrong.
Also, you have to disappear for the entirety of the off season and then when we are 8th in late January, make a bold prediction that we will finish top 10 and claim you have always said that.
I'm not sure anyone called you a moron cinci, but you do seem to be all over the place when it comes to transfers.
Personally, I don't think we'll be going for a 20-30m player. Yes we need to look at strengthening the squad, but I believe that Fosun will be looking at younger talent and developing them to Bruno's style of playing.
I also don't see us going to a back four anytime soon. The systems we're playing now (3-4-3 and 3-5-2) are working well and the players are getting used to the style of play Bruno wants.
Every club has injuries, but our walking wounded are on the mend and hopefully will be challenging for a first team spot. Yet here we are in 8th spot and 4 points clear of 9th. A good result against Arsenal and Spurs would see us nearer the top six.
So let's all relax, enjoy the ride, respect other posters opinions and who knows, maybe we will be in contention for a European spot come May.
Why am I all over the place? I have literally been saying the same as Bruno and then Nuno before him? The holes in our squad are obvious, a premier league club should have eyes on filling those holes. I truly don't understand the nonsense on here the last month or so regarding this!?!?!
As for a back four, right now there is no need to change it really though that may have been a different story if Toti had been poor. I am torn personally. I think we have a great player in Ait-Nouri and a change to a back four wouldn't be as suited to his game I don't think.
The more likely change is a midfield three, front two. Seen it a few times the last few weeks. Not sure that will happen personally and Bruno will switch depending on the opposition.
I think I am just going to have to accept. Cinci has a simple way of thinking. a top half finish for him was impossible.
Now he accepts he was probably wrong, but cannot understand why. We need signings he says, we need Sanches he says.
But we finished higher than he imagined we could? without them. or the ones he is satisfied with.
As for the grovelling apology, Why? It is my prediction, I can see the possibility, but nothing is guaranteed. Unlike you who flat out deny any possibility. which to me is simply stupid. you would think you would have learned from your earlier prediction? but obviously. not.
I will say with confidence that unless we make a couple of quality signings this window, there is no chance of us making top six in my opinion.
When you consider that Bruno was a complete gamble by the club in the first place, it's truly remarkable that we are indeed top half of the table. It will be a fantastic achievement to finish 7th, 8th or 9th with the players currently at the club.
I agree with Cinci though, that it seems frustrating to come so far and be reluctant to make the investment needed to take the final step? Make no mistake though, we need significant investment on and off the pitch to push for a challenge to the top six. We are punching way above our weight currently.
So, the reality is that maybe we settle for just outside the top six and a top half finish? The problem with this plan is that maybe Bruno Lage's ambitions stretch beyond that? We dropped very lucky with his appointment, if he needs reinforcements I suggest the club back him, despite what Amiga and Witless think.
