Keeper takes a man out in the box with no ball. What did he expect? He was in no man's land.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Just don't think jota would have scored with no contact from the keeper. He was rewarded for a bad touch.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Bad touch but even worse goalkeeping

Just no consistency at all. Zouma’s challenge on Ronaldo was more of a pen than that and it wasn’t checked.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Come on that wasn't a pen either.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It was debatable. Far more debatable than that today which simply wasn’t a pen. Nothing against Liverpool every team has poor decisions for and against them but it was a shocker.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah but no more of a shocker than probably every other team have benefitted from since VAR has been introduced.

Okay so if we say it wasn't a pen and we disallow the goal....

Paldace 1 - 2 Liverpool

We win.

3 points still.

You can all stop crying now.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
it would’ve made it interesting in the last few mins with 2-1 only
Palace we’re unlucky today
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Would it.

Can i borrow your magical crystal ball.

Palace weren't unlucky at all.

We had more shots, more shots on target, more possession, more touches in their half, more touches in their penalty area, more corners, and gave away less fouls.

Liverpool not winning would have been a travesty.

I agree. Surely it can’t be that hard to get these things right. VAR is meant to be there to correct clear and obvious errors. It can’t be clear and obvious if it has to be reviewed numerous times.

Despite it being against us, i'd hate to think how such a wrong decision such as this could affect a game/result that truly mattered.

Of you own making though. Stopped playing well at the 30 or 35 minute mark.
Virgil and matip continuously caught out.

They are desperate to drag their darlings into a title race, consequently you see these kind of gifts raining down on Varpool on a regular basis.

I agree its not a pen and Jota went looking for it but not a dive as guaita takes him out. Pretty poor that VAR gives it really.

posted on 23/1/22

Definitely wasn't a dive as the keeper clattered into him. He didn't get any of the ball, therefore it's a foul, in the box. The only question left is whether Jota has loft control of the ball, just as he was clattered he was in the process of shifting his body towards the ball. A very difficult one to call but I think the ball was going out, although I can't be sure.

If I had to make the decision I probably wouldn't give a penalty but as I say, really difficult to say with any certainty that Jota is not getting the ball if he isn't fouled.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Jota didn't go looking for it at all, he tried to dink it over the keeper and didn't catch it properly, he then shapes to adjust his position to go after the ball and is clattered.

Yep, this is the main issue. It wasn't clear and obvious whether Jota was getting the ball or not and therefore the original decision should have stood.

I didn’t see your article about VAR when we played and Jota was denied a blatant penalty

Are you being stupid on purpose?

I'll humour you just in case you're actually stupid.

Jota didn't catch his dink well. This was his fault.

The goalkeeper fouled Jota in the box. This was not his fault.

Hopefully this is dumbed down enough for you.

Ahhh, the 'Dumb dumbing the dumber down' stance that is continually posted by..............the dumbest?
Calling people dumb because their stance doesn't suits yours makes them neither dumb or for that matter wrong...............but it's a stance that is usually taken by people like you.
Don't spend your life being wrong

The game is corrupt to the core. Time and again officials fall down on the side of the so called big clubs.

Never a Liverpool penalty, like Kane's 'goal' today was never a push. Just an experienced defender who just fell over, as he knew Tierny would give them the decision.

Definitely not saying we would have not lost anyway. I mean, it is Spurs at SB. But it just confirms what we all know about officials.

This sort of help will gain Utd at least an extra 10 points by the time the season is done.

I hate the corruption, the constant diving, the cheating, the play acting, and VAR who we all know will favour certain teams time and time again.

Our game has not been this low in the gutter since the 70's and early 80's when hooligans were killing it.

We all know Liverpool get every decision going, and Spurs get every decision go against them. Football is corrupt.

In the space of two days

Man United have had an offside goal awarded.

Liverpool have had a blatant dive rewarded with a penalty.

Spurs have had a perfectly good goal chalked off.

And they say it`s a level playing field. Feck off. It`s laughable how the same teams get all the big decisions go for them.
