Glad for the intl break and for hopefully 2 key men to be back.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You miss Son big time, even off form he offers something that is missing when he's not in the line up
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Great player obvs and probably biggest big game player but wouldn't have stopped us losing that game.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Can't disagree would rather have him in the 11 than not, probably games against Chelsea won't define your season however, gonna be an interesting end to the season for a few clubs

Hope you enjoyed your day Nick, must be way more confident of hanging in to 3rd at worst now.

If I were a blue the spurs game would be one I'd always go to, guaranteed win and atmosphere of derby
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Cheers mte, going through a tough time with a 7 month old teething etc atm so the day was welcome but have to go through the crap games with the bad. Hitting about 600-700 games this year if my count is correct

In terms of top 3, I said our title challenge was done when chillwell got injured (such is my dislike of Alonso) but we had a better team today with sarr(no Alonso) and kovacic and mount back. But if we play like today it should be no issues

Did you go Nick ?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yep on the picadilly line home now mate. Would be interested to see how many bans are thrown out from the distortion in the shed upper by the east stand. Been a long time since I’ve seen so many punches thrown at footy. Did you go?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

My mate told me about this. security must've been crap?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There’s a line of stewards between, but there was encroachment let’s say and several punches thrown. A few chelsea fans east upper and several spurs fans shed upper and over hands thrown. A few stewards on receiving end unfortunately
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah you have to wonder why an orange vest and minimum wage isn't incentive enough to sort out some @rseholes?

Ebdo I like you mate but was a blatant for for Kane’s “goal” today. Bigger question is why Kane done it. Stupid decision
----------------------------------------------------------------------

You can disagree but I'm not having that it was a blatant foul. It is at the very least debatable.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
"Debatable" is probs fair?

Depends on what team you support, I would have been pashed off with the call but it was a 50/50 call imo amyway
----------------------------------------------------------------------

That would 100 per cent not been ruled out had Chelsea, Liverpool, City or United scored it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not aware of chelsea getting many beneficial decisions tbh
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Due to the emotions involved in football I feel most teams think they get shafted by refs, VAR etc, honestly don't think there is any refs who cheat or twist calls, maybe get them wrong but not cheating?

I like Conte and I hope he hangs around but that doesn't mean we shouldn't call him out when he's facked up and that team selection today (especially hot on the heels of a confidence building win at Leicester) was ridiculous.

Surely he's been at the club long enough to know that our forward thinking players are much better than our defenders so why play for a draw?

Like my dear old mother used to say "it's better to have fought and lost than not to have fought at all".

We got exactly what we deserved today and it's on Conte.

Can't agree with that. This is on the players who are simply spinless in this fixture year after year. They have been bending over for Chelsea a long long time before Conte was around..

What annoys me, and probably others is, why can we fight tooth and nail in games like the Leicester win only a few days ago, then put in that wimp of a performance against Chelsea, and do it year after year ?

The Spurs ja606 board really does encapsulate the average fan. Over-reaction when they win. Over-reaction when they lose.

You’re not better than Chelsea. Add to that them being a bogey team, throw in the fact what Spurs fans were saying before the game.

There is no need to worry at all for Spurs considering where they are as a club. One of the better PL teams, but just not quite good enough. You are where you will always most likely to be, and it will take new owners to get you that one or two steps higher.

Spurs are a big club so I understand the frustration, but when competing for top four, losses will still happen. You have the euphoria of the result the other day, but always seem to remain one further result which ends up dragging you back down again.

Getting beat by Chelsea at SB isn’t any cause for concern. Most teams lose there. Spurs always seem to threaten being able to mount a challenge, but always seem to not quite make it. There is a reason for that.

As things stand, you have the best stadium, unbelievable training facilities, so some things are being done right, but these things are off the pitch. On the pitch it’s never gone quite right. That’s the final push you need. The current owners don’t seem able or willing to gamble in that respect, and it is in that area that fans want to see improvement the most.

We handed the initiative to them before a ball was kicked.

I think you're missing the bigger picture. It's a fixture consistently each season that's lost. You see lesser teams give it more of a go when they go there.

No, I get that, but there is a reason why certain fixtures become bogey fixtures. It’s a double edged sword really which is essentially all about confidence. Players feel less confident because of a losing streak against a particular team, and the opposition feel more confident on the other side of the coin.

Spurs have this in their favour over City at Spurs stadium for example.

Chelsea have this over Spurs at SB.

Certain games where you (that’s fans and players) feel as though they’re already beaten before the game begins.

It happens.

It’s just no disgrace that it happens to Spurs at Chelsea, and it’s really no disgrace why it happens to City away to Spurs.

And also he is saying go for the final push. That would be like spending a billion just to catch up with Chelsea and City`s spend.

The bottom line is the financially doped clubs are getting further and further away, and nothing will happen until transfer and salary caps are introduced, that would at least level up the playing field a bit.

Even if Spurs say spend another £200 million, that won`t be enough to catch up with City and Chelsea, because they will go out and spend another £300 million each.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
The question ti answer is "Why did Kane push him?"

The only plausible answer is to gain some kind of advantage. Therefore it rests that the decision was correct to call it a foul.

If there was no advantage to be gained by Kane's action, then he wouldn't have done it in the first place.

People can say that there wasn't enough force to push him over but by putting his hand on Silvas back Kane gave the ref an excuse to disallow it.

Whether we like it or not a player is not supposed to put his hand on another players back and if it was the other way around we would all be demanding a free kick.
