I have just watched the penalty decision now on the BBC. What a joke. I didn't have the sound on, so not sure if it was given for the attempted tackle where they was a slight brush, or Jota throwing himself into the keeper. Either way, it wasn't a penalty and I'd actually have cautioned Jota for trying to con the referee. Farcical.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
A strange analysis of the penalty.

Jota ran into the area, attempted to dink the keeper, got his shot wrong his body moved right as his right foot came down, naturally. He then adjusted his body to go left towards the ball and at the same time the keeper fouled him. It was an obvious foul. The only question was whether he was getting to the ball if the keeper didn't foul him. It's impossible to tell in my opinion which means the original decision should stand as there is no clear and obvious error.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Nah, Jota was looking for the penalty. He was going to go down when Ward came across - you can actually see him start to drag his right foot, then he realises that there wasn't any/enough contact to go down. He then decides that he will instead try to get a penalty off the keeper and step towards him, which is why he fluffs the chip. No penalty for me.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Jota’s brain should be donated to science if you think he made all those decisions in a split second. Amazing.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Erm.....do you have any idea how quick the brain works? And he didn't have many decisions to make. He was looking for the penalty already. All he had to do was realise that Ward didn't provide the contact he wanted and so go for the keeper. Its one decision.

Of course I believe it. I'm not a wum.

Ultimately it doesn't matter; we won't catch Liverpool and Liverpool won't catch City. But Jota was 100% looking for the penalty. Dragged his foot, half hearted attempt on the shot, looked at the keeper, stepped into him. Anyone who has played the game can see it a mile off. Which is probably why the ref got it wrong.

Like I said, he could have initiated the contact far easier if he had been looking for a pen. All he had to do was step across Ward and slow down a fraction for Ward to hit him. It is what Vardy has made a career out of. You're wrong, which is fine. We are all wrong at times.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

You need to go and actually watch the video lad. He does step across Ward.

Have a look on the 30 second mark. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/av/football/60104943

But Ward doesn't fall for it. He makes an attempt to play the ball, and slightly brushes Jota, who drags his leg a bit, realises there isn't enough contact, so steps into the keeper after having a look to see where he is.

Its all there in the video if you actually watch it instead of spouting nonsense.

He was using his body to stop ward getting to the ball, not trying to initiate contact with him. It’s pretty obvious from the front view.

He steps across but he doesn't slow down or initiate contact. You need to read lad.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Of course he slows down. The ball bounces once and he sprints after it, then he slows down and lets it bounce again, stepping across Ward. He even has a little look to see if Ward is coming in.

The mental gymnastics here is astounding. I mean, its all there in the video. If you have seen the video and played football at some point in your life, its quite clear that Jota is looking for the penalty. And fair play to him, he got it. Because most of these refs don't have a clue about what to look for.

Jota slows down and lets the ball bounce twice instead of hitting it on the half volley. He steps across Ward. He has a look to his left to see if Ward is coming in and starts to drag his right foot. He realises that there isn't enough contact, has a look at the keeper and then steps into him. Every movement and glance he has is geared towards winning the penalty.

And I haven't said that you haven't played football at all or to a high level. I am sure that you have. Which is why you know that I am right and why I know that you are wumming. Or ridiculously biased.

As I said, ultimately it doesn't matter. You won't catch City and we won't catch you, so its irrelevant really.

This is complete nonsense and pure fantasy. None of the play that involves Ward is geared towards winning a penalty. Yes, he drags his foot but keeps his balance and doesn’t remotely look like he’s trying to go down. And of course he’s looking to see where he is, the striker looking to see where the defender is, is perfectly normal, doesn’t automatically mean he’s looking for the penalty. That’s just you making that assumption, the video doesn’t back you up one bit.

I didn't say that looking to see where he is automatically means he is looking for the penalty. But he also slows down and steps across Ward. Nothing wrong with that. A forwards should do that to close out the defenders route to the ball. But all of those 3 factors and the decision not to take the shot on early suggests he was looking for the penalty. Throw the little leg drag in when he was expecting contact and its clear as day to me. Even more so after his halfhearted chip and step into the keeper.

if this happened in the wolves game no one would be talking about it but because man utd are no rival to liverpool they have to try and get their wum on.
it wasn't a dive and it wasn't a penalty. the ref just got it wrong as they have countless times so far this season.
the jealousy and hatred for liverpool is hilarious.

He is absolutely correct, with United close behind them.

Varpool are the media darlings though and Klopp can whinge and whine his way to anything. They are desperate for Varpool to push City for the title and are doing their utmost to drag them into it, just like they dragged them into the CL last season and dragged them to a covid title.

VAR is being used as a tool to influence the majority of games in Pool`s favour, anybody with half a brain can see that.

This would mean Liverpool have received decisions from VAR in at least 16 games this season alone you thick cvnt.
