I got no issue with Elvis to be honest. He is fine as a poster. He is just wrong on this one and it is quite funny how much he has convinced himself.

If you watch it a few more times you see Jota was looking for the peno as soon as he got through. Its really not that difficult to see. I mean, at no point did he commit to getting that shot off. I got no issue with Elvis to be honest. He is fine as a poster. He is just wrong on this one and it is quite funny how much he has convinced himself.

You lot are weird. Why does it take any amount of convincing? You watch the video the first time and it is clear that he steps into the keeper. If you watch it a few more times you see Jota was looking for the peno as soon as he got through. Its really not that difficult to see. I mean, at no point did he commit to getting that shot off. Because he wanted a pen.

I'm not even debating that he steps into the keeper. It is the reason I don't think it is a penalty. What is funny is that you cannot see that it was a perfectly natural move based on his body position and trying to keep the ball in play after he mis hit his shot. You think that because he delayed getting his shot off, probably to try and do exactly what he did against Arsenal 3 days before by lifting the all over the keeper (which is exactly what happened) you seem to think he was looking for a penalty even though he 100% could have made it far easier for himself by getting one from Ward.

He tried to get one against Ward by stepping across him, but the contact didn't come. Even though you said he didn't step across him. He also slowed down, even though you said he didn't slow down. Are you sure you have actually seen the incident in question?

Don't think I ever said he didn't step across him. What I said is to get an easy pen, all he had to do was step across him and then slow down to initiate the contact. It is about as easy as it gets in terms of guaranteeing a penalty. If you're going to start lying to try and make your argument....

Sigh. The key difference between the two is slowing down to initiate the contact. You're acting like it is weird for a forward to get their body between the defender and ball and if a player does that he wants a penalty. Don't be weird.

No I'm not. I said earlier in the thread that a forward should get their body in between the defender and the ball. It was you that brought the stepping across the defender up, not me. I merely pointed out that he did step across Ward to counter your point. Then you said that he didn't slow down. Which he did. At this point you should probably go and watch the video I posted as not to confuse yourself anymore.
