Tim Vickery’s assessment of Luis Díaz

He was not spot on about Emerson but quite the opposite.

https://twitter.com/Tim_Vickery/status/1452267917286989833?t=qpqjkM71hSitpvqLoeZ1lQ&s=19

He compared him to Maicon who was v good going forward lol.

He also said this about GLC

"He's a very, very talented left-footed playmaker, you can certainly see the reason behind the Tottenham connection, with Christian Eriksen perhaps looking to move on," he told Sky Sports News.

"Lo Celso would bring some of the things that Christian Eriksen brings, with perhaps a little bit more dynamism, maybe not as deadly as the Dane from set-pieces, but more dynamism over the field .He had a terrific season for Real Betis."

He also said Royal was pretty mediocre and was surprised Spurs were in for him, and mediocre he certainly has been.

It does not take a blind man to see where our problems are on the field. It beggers belief if we are actually trying bring in players we do not need. I really cannot beleive that Paratici is daft enough to shaft his mate Conte. Hes a wiley old fox and Levy will struggle too..... else Conte really is a dumb feck or just in it for the inevitable pay off whilst he waits for Man U or another bigger job where he will get the cash to splash.

It's got to be media circus BS. With no footy on they've got days to fill with this BS and no actual news.

Tim Vickery’s columns were quality on bbc.

But he’s called it wrong on players a lot

It's one thing seeing these players abroad and in South American leagues but they don't always translate their quality to a much tougher PL. This is probably where Vickery and some of his predictions about players come unstuck.

I thought (and am sure I read this somewhere) that Conte saw Emerson as a good RCB not a wing back and tbf, that's a good assesment

Don't see the point in signing a player in Son's position unless they're also capable of playing on the right. Son's nowhere near as effective on the right, so unless this guy is a big upgrade on Lucas on the right it seems a waste of our meagre transfer funds.

Spot on. As a follower of South American football the amount of space you get there to pass and to take numerous touches wouldn't be possible in the PL.

The warm climate is one of the reason the game there is slower.

Son can move the right. One of the best goals I’ve seen (against Chelsea) was Son attacking the right flank.

There’s a stat somewhere that the Portuguese league is one of the best recruitment leagues for premier league in terms of top quality players.

Let’s be honest..we will take any good news right now.

I would rather drop Son and play Diaz with Lucas and Kane. Son can be a super sub, he is too weak and proven it week in week out.

But highly doubt Diaz will sign anyway.

Bruno did alright and didn't need anytime to settle. Postiga on the other hand...well. It's a mix bag.
