All other clubs spend millions with no worries regarding FFP.seemingly

Quite simply, they don't

Er, it’s a ‘pass’ from me Donn, but I have a genuine empathy with the point (I think) you’re making here. Btw, I’m on the ๐Ÿทatm, waiting for the missus to bring me my Sunday roast ๐Ÿ‘

I think its a loss of £105 million over three years.

And its that three years that I'd imagine is the crux of it for us.

U til we have three years in the premiership one at least one of our years will have a massive championship size dent in it that will limit our ability to operate on a more even level

Villa seem to have always spent a fortune! Derby used to - but looks like it’s caught up with them!

Newcastle spent nearly 100million Liverpool 40million Man City millions I didn’t mean all clubs literally just many .Leeds spent peanuts on teenagers who won’t be ready for yonks.

It’s a rule set up by the traditionally rich clubs to retain wealth and status and prevent any upstarts or oil clubs taking over. It’s failed largely.

Most other clubs seem to be able to find loopholes but not Leeds they are doing too much by the book obeying all the rules .I remember they were fined 200000for braking a rule that wasn’t there .Should have gone to court on the matter.

Spend what you want, they only ever check City's books.

I seem to remember Villa pulled the same crap Derby
did. But, Villa managed to stay up in the Prem so
avoided any penalties that would've been levied by the
EFL. Or that's what I recollect. I'm more than likely
wrong on this.

Talking about splashing the cash, anyone else watching
Forest? Brennan Johnson. Damn. Better than I thought he was. Surely he'll be snapped up by someone in the Prem this summer. Wouldn't mind us having a look.

Keinan Davis is a handful too.

It’s all too complicated…let clubs spend whatever they want…maybe cap the amount of registered players they can have.

We have one of the highest net spends in the league

What are you talking about?

And Djed Spence looks an absolute gem.
Would love it if we went in for him.

So what it boilsdown to it seems to me is if you haven’t got wealthy owners you will probably get nowhere. So until that happens we’re wasting our time.Come in 49ers ASAP.

If this is all a waste time are you not better off watching a different sport until we have new owners then?

FFP in layman’s terms…

Try to stop any club threatening the most profitable clubs that bring in the revenue for UEFA.

In a nutshell, it’s to ensure that the televised games involve clubs who have the biggest audiences.

And that is pretty much it.

Given that it helps us, I should disagree, but unfortunately I agree with you. It’s a sham. Perhaps it protects some small clubs, but at the top level it’s really to ensure that rich owners don’t come in and upset the status quo.

I wonder whether we would have spent all those years in the wilderness had FFP been around 20 years ago. It might have prevented Ridsdale from gambling with our future.

I wonder how different the game would look if FFP had been in place right from the start…
