Pogba in a three with Fred holding
Dalot starts
Lindelof any day. I’d take even Jones over Maguire
Dalot over AWB, Maguire but only just, still not impressed with our midfield whoever plays at present
I don’t like Pogba on the left to be honest, but Sancho is starting to progress and I don’t want to hamper that.
If Sancho could continue his form on the right, I’d like to see a front 4 of Pogba, Bruno, Sancho and Ronaldo.
Something that struck me today toward the end, is how well Bruno lead the line in that sort of false 9 role. If you have the wingers coming inside to take the space maybe one day that’s worth experimenting with. Neither Liverpool nor City play with a traditional CF.

Maguire has had a decent week tbf but I’d go with Lindelof against the more technical Atletico forwards.

Yes it’s something we should be trying more often. Ronaldo more often than not simply isn’t up to it and he wasn’t again today.
Dalot starts
Lindelof sounds like he earned a start with Varane if fit.
I’d go with Pogba in midfield because Atletico will be hard to break down.
Could a back work for this one or should we stick to the way we are playing?
A back 3 could suit playing Pogba in midfield.

I think we've looked more lively in the forward areas when Ronaldo hasn't been on the pitch, and we seemed to again today, as you note.
Not only is Ronaldo really showing his age throughout the majority of games (he obviously still has moments in him), the other players seem more expressive when he's not on the pitch.
If we are bringing Fred back in alongside McTom, would actually prefer Pgoba next to them in a midfield 3, with Bruno in the front 3, rather than have Pogba out wide.
Rangnick actually said when he took over that he doesn't see Pogba as a wide player at all anyway, just a CM.

Yes I agree. This idea that he gets no service is a bit of myth also. Only 2 players have now missed more big chances in the PL this season.
Ronaldo would be best used as an impact sub but we know it’s never going to happen.
I’m more concerned about LB. Should Telles start?
I think he should. Think he’ll be able to deal with the shiithousery better….
Pogba was really good today but all his best moments came from being outwide anyway.
It's not a dillema.
Yes
Lindelof
Dalot
Copy and paste for any game of even remote importance.
I've been banging the drum for Bruno as false 9 and playing Pogba + McFred for a while. The advantages of being able to get the best out of Pogba and Bruno without sacrificing more defensive shield than necessary outweighs the goal scoring capabilities of Ronaldo, in my view. And we can't exactly say Ronaldo has been in electric goal scoring form since about November in any case.
Seems very unlikely Ronaldo will be dropped though.
Ronaldo has certainly killed Bruno's mojo - started with the missed pen early in the season, and it's only got worse. As soon as Ron went off - Bruno stepped up. It's so obvious to me, so why doesn't management do something about it. CR7 sells shirts, but Bruno is our future - you should never bargain away your future.

Heroball won't win league titles, an even better version of Bruno (Gerrard) shown that. Sporting won the title first full season after he left and they have a chance at a repeat.

That could have something to do with the fact they hired Ruben Amorim a couple of months after Bruno left, but I'm sure you already knew that.
We need to pick an attacking lineup.

This. when Ronaldo left, we took complete control of the midfield.
