"dirty Russian money" is more common that water in the Thames.

Wouldn't be saying that if Spurs were in it. Looking like it will be a long time before they are again too.

Wouldn't surprise me if the final ended up being in Spurs' stadium actually.

Isn't Gazprom now on a list of sanctions in the UK and I'm assuming Europe?

You don't need to end a football tournament because it has a bad sponsor.

But should clubs be accepting Russian money through the sponsorship?

Seems like football is happy to get involved with the Russians and their dirty money.

Personally football in Europe should have a zero tolerance to Russian money in any form, whether sponsorship or ownership.

Send a clear message to Russia.

But if Gazprom are the main sponsors, then they will be putting in the most money. So without any money, who will be paying the clubs for competing?

Give the money back, the prestige is more than enough

Read before that Schalke have removed Gazprom from their shirts

People that survived the ‘Rumblelows’ era, know this all too well, you just fight through it.

This is the Champions League, a league that only tp top clubs can appear regularly. Someone else will be happy to step in. Gazprom defeated many other bidders to get the sponsorship so someone will step in.

Just remove Gasprom immediately, pay whatever money back, either have no sponsorship for the rest of the comp, or see if someone wants to step in for the knockout games
Dead easy

Why pay it back?

Where's all the 'keep politics out of sports' talk??

Just bin off the whole competition, it`s never been such a poor tournament with only realistically half a dozen teams capable of winning it, it is about as pointless as it gets these days.

I can imagine you felt differently until about 8:04 on the 1st June 2019 when all your little hopes and dreams of winning a trophy fizzled out...

Stop making it personal. Countries going to war is a lot more serious than some silly football tournament sponsored by the Russians. If clubs had any sense of the seriousness of what is happening, they would all immediately withdraw.

We live in a world where Qatar successfully bid to host the world cup. A country with a smaller population than Wales and almost entirely desert, where 1000s of migrant workers have been underpaid, mistreated and killed (over 6500 deaths!) and not a single word on it from FIFA.

Football at the highest level doesnt give a shiiiit about anything other than money.

Yeah, that's what this is about sandy. Not just yet another example of you using a serious world event as a chance to spew bitterness about your rubbish football club.
