I get the criticism of rogic in the last few games but I thought he was outstanding at times last night. I think in most games he should be a ‘must’ to start. O’Riley has done really well since signing but is nowhere near rogic in terms of distribution and directness.

Sorry but I think the criticism of the team is way over the top nowadays.

For one Hatate and Maeda played a full season before coming to us so it’s hardly a surprise they are feeling the strain of all of that. Jota, just like Roberts had before him is being crowded out by between 2 and 3 players at a time. They’re getting used to what he does.

Rogic. The player we were happy to see leave a couple of seasons ago? And finally a side scrambled together between July last year with the latest additions just over 6 weeks ago into our season.

I get it’s frustrating but what does anyone expect? Swashbuckling high scoring games all the time putting everyone to the sword?

We’re unbeaten in something like 22 games with only 3 draws and after last years shambles and our start this year that is an unbelievable run in anyones standards.

I get as annoyed at every stray pass as anyone else but I look at the bigger picture and no matter what happens this season I realise it’s a world away from where I thought we’d be.

Rangers aren’t exactly ripping teams up either and talk to their supporters and you’ll get the same view.

Nobody is doing well under this pressure.

Agreed Ginger.

It's remarkable what Ange has achieved since our Lennon debacle. He's basically built the team up from scratch and worked wonders against rivals that dominated the previous season.

Like our Bear chums, it might not be pretty, but winning is winning.

i think people got carried away with how "good" we have been if i'm being honest.

We had a few games after the break in which we played some brilliant stuff but more often than not this season its been a struggle.

It's his first season and he inherited a schit show so i don't expect much from this season so if we win the league i'd say we over achieved based on expectations.

it was an effort getting that goal last night and i think we struggle when teams sit in.

We sure were spoiled in the first few weeks after the shutdown ended.

Every single new guy hit the ground running.

You can tell the players are feeling it a bit, whether that's pressure or feeling the pace of trying to play the way Ange wants them to twice a week for 6/7 weeks

Doesn't help when the crowd get on their back and I'll admit I found myself voicing my displeasure a lot last night than usual

However I felt after we got the 1st goal we played a lot better and I think this was due to moving McGregor forward one, he needs to go with that on Sunday, Bitton in. I'd like to see him giving a Guchi a chance in the home games

After Sunday we've got 8 days until we play Dundee United hopefully get through Sunday unscathed and look forward to a break from league duty

He's seems way more consistent than Rogic who looks like he's had his wee game ...so we can count him out for the next 5

imo in the 1st half last night Juranovic(final ball let him down a few times last night) Starfelt and O'Riley were the only ones who got pass marks

I thought Starfelt had a really good game

i think heads just seem like they are down at the moment, a lack of enthusiasm.

missing GG for these type of games i think, some of the crossing is ghastly man, that one from Juranovic last night, wtf.

St Mirren sat in deep like we expected to try nullify the space for us to exploit. The only thing missing for me was a bit of taking opportunity in the first half. Too often we took the safe option.

Maeda through the middle v a packed defence may not work but Abada does so we could have switched they two.

However, second half we started trying to take the quick forward passes on, tried getting the ball into the box and it worked. It is hard to criticise when we won, kept a clean sheet and never looked in danger v a team with 10 men behind the ball at all times.

It might not be pretty on the eyes at all times but we knew St Mirren were going to try to that again. The best thing we did was get the win as it now shows other teams who may consider it that we can change things and get the win

Mental, absolutely mental! Both clubs on track for a title winning points total. Thee are always tense and turgid games in any season.

Jota - let’s not forget he is still young and this is likely his most demanding season ever. Throw in heavy pitches, cold, wind, rain…

Yes, Rogic is capable but he needs an engine room firing to feed him. Looks great in tight spots but still doesn’t do enough. Last ten last night he was caught on the wrong side of his man about 6 times and doing my nut. So lazy.

MOR another young man and said last night he is an absolute star in the making imho. Should be starting games ahead of Rogic when on form.

Starfelt was very good last night and my motm. CCV got it for the goal and he was solid as ever but misplaced a few passes.

Hart’s save was outstanding and almost the only thing he had to do.

Jura is a machine and a huge personality. He gets it.

If only we had another one or two Calmac! What a player.

Tons of positives.

I thought Jota was hiding at times in the 2nd half didn't give Taylor an option on numerous occasions and Taylor ended up having to go back to Starfelt and the crowd were getting on his back for it

i struggle to see positives in how we have played since the motherwell game.

it's a transition season, but lets not sprinkle litter on a schite and say its looking good at present, it's really not.

i don't expect us to win the league and as i say we have overachieved if we do given the schitshow that was left.

you're allowed to say we are brilliant when we are brilliant and schite when we are schite and the last few games we have been schite.

Think there was a general lack of movement last night. Improved second half.

Think the crowd were very impatient last night, even after we went one up. We were well on top, St Mirren weren`t really trying to get out. I know, it only takes one instance, but felt the reaction to safer passes was a bit OTT.

Said on another thread

St Mirren 5 at the back with Power and Gogic(the 2 most CDMs you will get) sitting in front of it. We weren't quick enough first half but thought we played pretty well in 2nd. St Mirren didn't have one shot or one corner.

The difference a whipped cross makes with a bit of pace is everything btw, Jota's for the first goal doesn't give their defence time to set and get up and head, which causes a bit of panic for the goal which is a great finish. We need more of that rather than the aimless floaty p11sh that's been constant recently.

Thought the subs done well. Forrest a few moments he sh&t but he actually wanted to take on his man and injected a bit of energy in our play. He should have gone down when he got in behind Tanser the first time, had his hands on him and would have been a pen and red.

Another game ticked off

i like ralston for that tbh, i think he powers his way to the byline and then puts in some pretty decent crosses.

i question the thought process of putting in high floaty balls to a wee guy like maeda

posted on 3/3/22

Id go Juranovic left back and Ralston right back the remainder of the season.

Ralston doesnt get bullied off the ball as easily as Taylor

posted on 3/3/22

Juranovic is not effective whatsoever out on the left though, his energy on the right getting up and down helps but I reckon that will happen on Sunday, Ralston will come in for it for a bit of physicality. I'd play Bitton aswell.

Hart

Ralston
CCV
Starfelt
Juranovic

Bitton
McGregor

Abada
O'Reilly
Jota

GG

we need to change it up on Sunday we go there every season try and play the same way and it doesn't happen for us

bring in Ralston at right back, Bitton in to the middle of the park, push McGregor forward one and hopefully GG is available to start
