Good for you, mate. That's important, and yet sadly sometimes thankless, work.

I was amazed at the pace wee Jamsie showed when he came on late in the game. If he shows that level of speed more often, Ange might pick him in the starting 11. 👍
Mikey Johnston again eh, another 3 weeks out and nowhere to be seen. Disastrous

I've been meaning to get into boxing for years (and not just the bare-arsed kind). Kind of fed up doing kata and poomsae and all the other air-dances. I know they serve a purpose but I'm getting old enough I just want the racing line.

when I switched to boxing it was a real eye opener.
tbf when competing @ karate a lot of the techniques are not really used, its more akin to kickboxing. But its point based and was only half contct to head and full contact to body. You get hit and u reset, in boxing u get hit and and its you have to react. there is a lot of fundamental differences that dont gell to well and a lot that really do.
For eg stance nad movement is completely different as is balance. but i had excellent judging of distance and timing thro years of sparring. I can also bang pretty well, due to to me learning how to transfer weight and punch strike correctly through a target from from about the age of 8.
Biggest eye opener is fitness, now I was a fit lad when I started boxing, long distance runner, competed at karate for years, played a lot of football but I was blowing when I started boxing its another level compeletely.
Also ego is far more of a thing in boxing, a lot of in house wars and dikheads looking to beat up on smaller inexperienced guys. I got in a few due to having a label on me. Guys knew I was scottish u16 & u18 champion before joining.
In the end I loved it boxing was another level.
In hindsight if I were to do it all again I would prob learn muay thai and BJJ as these defo seem the more practical disciplines to learn.

Oh and injuries, a lot more injuries boxing a LOT. so much more wear and tear, far more impact.
Hmmm. I'm not sure you're selling it to me mate, as a 45-year-old chubby man.
I did Muay Thai for a year or so. Fvcking brutal. No other words for it. Never sweated so much, never had so many aches and pains.
Kayal was a great player , could mix it and could look after the ball . But Deila didnt fancy him
infact Mulgrew took his place - and despite the fact that Mulgrew had one of the worst games ever and was replaced by Kayal for the last 20 mins against dundee united who came on and ran the show .
next game Kayal on the bench and Mulgrew back in midfield
Deila was hopeless at times
Guys knew I was scottish u16 & u18 champion before joining.
