Where does Neil rank? He's a brilliant player, but 1 World title... Can't be in the top 5 for me

Do you mean ever? Nowhere near top 5

That old problem we have discussed for him and Judd. Player of the season but blown it in R2.

Top of my head players I've seen so mid 80s really onwards

Ronnie, hendry, Davis, Higginsx2, Williams, White, are my top 7

Then probably

Robbo, Selby, judd

Based on this season, Robbo has been the player of the season. But there's not much between him and the other 'big 5', just depends on the day.

As for ever, Ronnie, Hendry, Davis, J Higgins, Reardon, Selby, Williams, A Higgins. The rest can forget it

Would Trump be regarded as a better player than Neil if they both retired tomorrow? Not sure about that.

I've watched snooker since the mid 80's too & there was no one more gutted than me watching Jimmy lose those 5 finals in a row 90-94, but he can't be above a 4 time champ in Selby, or Robbo, or Judd.. Top 4 are Ronnie, Stephen, Steve & John.... Then debate the rest...

Natural talent or legacy

The former white trounces Selby the latter well its pretty tight... White won plenty of other titles

You can get about 90/1 on 4 'outsiders' making the semis.

May as well be 900 /1😂

Jimmy didn't win that many tournaments to be fair. I'm no Selby fan, but he's a good bit ahead of Jimmy.

There'll be at least one upset for the semis

Natural talent, Ronnie, Jimmy & Alex, although Higgins ( Alex) is over rated for me...

For me you can’t really look past the list of WC winners.

Hendry, Ronnie, Davis, Higgins for me the best ever. Ronnie the best, Hendry the greatest, Higgins the most complete.

Then you have Williams and, sadly, Slowby. Reardon and Alex Higgins are big figures, but I am too young to judge how good they were.

Then you can start to talk about Neil and Judd, scraping into the top 10, they are probably better than all other 1 time champions. Can add White in there even though he never won one.

Kinsang, I think Bingham will do Judd, he's playing well, Judd isn't... Yet.

Like I said, I think Yan might do Williams. Alex was my hero, even tho he was a complete nutcase. But you only ever saw glimpses of his best, such a waste of a talent. That break against Jimmy........still can't believe it

Robbo fails again at the Worlds.

However, not convinced by Lisowski at all, hope he can turn up in the QF

15-14 down in the 82 semi, great break, imagine if Jimmy has won, I think he'd have beaten an ageing Reardon, & be the youngest world champion, he'd have been a few days short of 20, what a different career Jimmy could have had...

So it's Yan, Bingham, Maguire and Lisowski in the semis.................

Yan, Judd, Maguire and Lisowski.

I think Jack's tank will be empty, I see a Ronnie John semi, first meeting on the 1 table since the 2001 final.. We'll see time will tell

It does seem that the player that has the best season doesn't always go on to win the World championship. It's certainly very strange.

I want that to happen so badly.

Anything can happen at the WCs and you always get an upset or 2. I still see Jack as a great potter but not much else to his game, and he still plays too many ropey shots, especially over a long match. He probably played as well as he ever has against a slightly under par Robbo and just scraped through - just can't see him maintaining a decent enough level for 2 matches away, so as long as a decent Higgins turns up, think he wins comfortably.
