It's literally the worst tournament on the calendar. Everyone knows how much I love snooker and I pretty much watch every tournament but that is just one event I really really struggle to enjoy lol.

Not seen a ball potted in that tournament

Hendon saying the Scottish Open is in Edinburgh this year, annoyed its not Glasgow, but better than bloody Llandudno.

Missing my snooker, can't wait for Ronnie to be in introduced as the 7 time & defending world champion 👏👏👏

Just seen that there is a new world mixed doubles event to be played on ITV.

The top 4 men will be paired with the top 4 women over a weekend of play. Round robin event then a final.

Would like more of these team events.

That sounds pretty decent

yeah that does sound good, hopefully Ron's team-mate is on break off duty

Yea I saw that too, 24th & 25th September, worlds top four men & women, be interesting if they played men against women... 😂 Ouch...

Yep the doubles sounds fun.

However, the championship league is terrible. They have 32 groups and I think it’s 1 group per day.

So not only is it a meaningless tournament, but it goes on for longer than the World Championship

Role on the autumn, & 6-7 months of continuous snooker 👏

It's a shame we don't have any of the China tournaments back yet.

Your favourite players toughest opponent..... Ronnie has a few big rivalries, & some from yesteryear, from, Hendry & Ebdon early in his career , To Robbo, Judd, Williams, John Higgins feature massively, but for me it's Selby... Ronnie has only lost 1 World final & 1 UK final out it 14 wins, & both were to Selby, he knew how to tie Ronnie in knots, & has a fantastic overall game, Selby has dipped slightly now, & like Robbo does when he faces Selby, they refuse to get bogged down, & usually come out on top... But, yes, overall I'd say Selby is/was Ronnie's kyriptonite!

For Jimmy, I was 100% sure it would be Davis for years, but I think it's got to be Hendry. Even though Jimmy won many times against Hendry, in the crucial title finals, you always felt this gut feeling that Hendry would win it even when Jimmy was a few frames up.

For Ronnie, I think it's been John Higgins. From as early on as when he beat Ronnie in the Grand Prix 5-0 in 1994, I've always found him to be extremely difficult for Ronnie. There have been periods where both players have dominated each other, but I think Higgins has beaten Ronnie over 30 times. I'm not even sure of another player that has beaten Ronnie 20 times.

Fair point JustTrue, with John, it's a 30 year battle is that one, & still ongoing.. 3-3 between them at the Crucible... Agree with Jimmy, initially it definitely was Steve Davis, who I remember beating Jimmy in many a tight final in the late 80's, I remember Hendry coming on the scene, & disliked him from day 1, 😂, simply because of how good he was, & how good he was going to be.. I remember Jimmy v Hendry in the second round of the 88 world championship were Jimmy won 13-12, that was the start of that rivalry... Hendry was his nemisis

For Hendry it was definitely Ronnie. Although you could argue Ronnie would be on every players list lol. I think the head to head between them both was relatively even before the 2004 world championship semi final but after that it was completely one sided.
Matthew Stevens was a surprising and annoying one to be honest! He had this very annoying habit of beating Hendry in big matches. Twice at the Crucible and in the 2003 UK championship final. That match still really annoys me.

For Judd Trump I'd say it was John Higgins. That period between 2011-2018 Judd just couldn't beat Higgins even when he was in strong positions. Things changed ever since the 2019 world championship final though.
I'd say followed by Ronnie. Head to head is even and Judd has had a good record against Ronnie in finals but ultimately lost the biggest final between them and also lost in the semi finals of the 2013 World championship.

Kyren Wilson used to be his nemesis but things changed from 2019.

Yea, Ronnie could be on most, I think with Hendry is early rivalry was both Jimmy & Steve, Steve because he had everything Hendry wanted, Jimmy as he was the other top dog of the era,, A good rivalry with John Parrott too, then a rivalry with the class of 92 for the rest of his career, Particularly Ronnie...

posted on 2/7/22

Another one in Jimmy's list bizzarely was Terry Griffiths...

Ronnie had problems with Parrott, but most of their matches were when Ronnie was a teenager

posted on 2/7/22

Yea he did, Parrott has a winning record against Ronnie,
