I've been watching random snooker during the summer, like Mike Hallett v Darren Morgan in round 2 at the Crucible on 1990... Neal foulds v Eddie Charlton... A proper mixture of matches

I hate all these qualifiers. This week it's British Open qualifiers, we have qualifiers for the home nation events as well. I know that was introduced last year but it's pointless and annoying, they should scrap these qualifiers for those 5 events, and have a few other tournaments on instead.
But anyways I am looking forward to the European Masters next week.

No Ronnie or Robbo, chance for Judd to get number 1...ive never been bothered about number 1... It's all about titles, triple crown events & of course World championships... Judd is better than the 3 he has, I think he'll win 1 this year...

I care about everything, being world number 1 and winning plenty of titles. World championship is of course the main priority.

Ronnie says he's out for 2 months with an arm injury, hope he can still play the doubles, that will be fun to watch

Dammm hope he makes a speedy recovery soon.

On this day in 2020, Ronnie won his 6th World title 🌍

Selby out...

Selby played very poorly apart from the 1 frame where he made a century.

I only saw the last frame, was trying to torture the young lad as usual... Big season for Selby, I think he may be finished as a top 4 player...

Yet again Judd loses to Barry Hawkins. That's 3 times in a row now. I honestly don't know why he struggles against him so much for! It's very frustrating. Well played Barry he was the better player.
I know I generally support the underdog (apart from when my favourite players are playing) but I will be supporting Mark Williams tomorrow evening!

Ronnie stays number 1 then... He was lucky to win the previous match at 4-4...

I'll put a thread up for the British Open which starts at the end of next month.

Kyren Wilson vs Barry Hawkins in the final of the European Masters. The winner will secure a spot in the champion of champions, still a few spots up for grabs.

Kyren Wilson wins the final 9-3.

How bad is Barry at these finals? I'm sure he got smashed by Robbo earlier this year a couple of times...

Yes it is weird, he played so well against Judd and Williams but then was so poor in the final!

I can’t believe how little snooker has been played since early May and then it’s back to back tournaments later in the year. Surely it would be better to spread the tournaments over the year.

Ridiculous schedule

I agree, all of this could have been done if world snooker didn't have an obsession with introducing qualifiers for the home nation events and the British Open.

Hong Kong Masters draw (invitation event)

Mark Selby v Marco Fu (October 6)
Neil Robertson v Zhao Xintong (October 6)
Judd Trump v John Higgins (October 7)
Ronnie O’Sullivan v Ng On Yee (October 7)

The quarter-finals on October 6 and 7 will be best of nine frames, then the two semi-finals and the final on October 8 and 9 are best of 11 frames

posted on 26/8/22

Should be interesting. It's been 5 years since we last had a Hong Kong Masters.

Ronnie says that Barry has a soft underbelly... Very true

Watched Cliff Thorburn v Steve James in the QF of the World championship the other day on YouTube 😂, it was in Sportsnight, a programme that used to be on on Wednesday nights, so caught the goal of the season candidates for 87/88 remarkably all 10 were Liverpool goals!
