All is not well at Old Trafford. They’ve had a number of decent managers since Ferguson and none have been able to get it right. And there’s some good players there that are not performing, or not giving 100%, or both. Don’t know why the fans anger is directed at the owners, plenty of money has been spent, but on players that haven’t produced the goods.

yeah owners always get a bad time of it, look at Kenwright at Everton, sold the club to whom he thought was a good fit, they've then spunked a shiete tonne of cash, it's gone wrong but still they blame Kenwright

the manager can only carry so much of the can, yes he gives instructions and yes he picks the side, but what I don't understand is, these are professional top level players, how much hand holding do you need? surely they know what needs doing and how, we've all played footy to varying levels you know your job/role but yet the players get the least amount of stick

Ruben Neves back in training. Have to wait and see if he is ready to play on Sunday

I think Man United are poorly run from top to bottom. The owners may spend money, but the structure they have put in place is a big reason behind their demise.

They keep hiring CEOs that don't know football. Their recruitment has generally been poor. They still have so many players on their books on big contracts that should have been sold a long time ago e.g. Mata, Lingard etc. Lingard is a prime example of poor transfer policy, where they could have got money for him last year but now will lose him on a free after keeping him to barely play him. Then you have the long transfer sagas, which inevitably lead to them overpaying for players.

They have people like Fletcher and Carrick in important roles. These are guys who have little experience in the roles they are currently in, but are cosy because of their playing days.

Not sure if you watched the game Bombolino, but Man Utd were dreadful, all bar about 15-20 mins at the start of the second half. Keane was clearly annoyed at the result and was blaming everyone. I didn't see players giving up at any point, so your analysis is complete bollox.

They had a bad day at the office, that's all and let's not forget that United lost 0-5 to Liverpool earlier in the season at home. So by your rationale, they must have all given up then too.

pogba sacked it off after 10 mins

bruno kicked the ball out of play rather than take on Henderson

United 100% are not trying under their interim manager

The players were walking round the pitch. There was definitely no fight in the United players. It wasn't just Keane who pointed that out.

Sunny won't have seen that Tam, it goes against his agenda of him being right and me being wrong

Liverpool were brilliant last night, as they were when they thrashed United 5-0 earlier in the season. How about the 20 min. spell United had at the start of the second half and Bruno kicked the ball out of play over sheer frustration, nothing else. That's what happens when you're getting mauled.

Are you seriously telling me that United aren't pushing for Europe?

are you seriously telling me that whilst they were getting mauled, they stepped up and played to their ability? or is it remotely possible heads dropped and they gave up?

go on it won't hurt you to admit they sacked off last night

Quite a bizarre argument to suggest players and teams don't quit sometimes. We saw it first hand under Mick and TC, our spineless shower back then absolutely quit on the team.

I asked him about our bomb squad last week, he just ignores my question so.....

Think Uniteds biggest problem is that they still think they are cleverer than the room. Managers available but yet they have gone the temp route with the last two appointments and i honestly have no idea what the idea was behind rangnick?? How does a player respect someone that isn't going to be around.

I agree, get an interim, replace him with another interim

Conte was available, they should have pulled out all the stops

Of course heads drop, but you don't just stop playing. It's called frustration. United are playing for a European spot, so they aren't going to just give up.

As for our "bomb squad". The only player I read that gave up was Doyle. What you're suggesting is that the whole United team just gave up. Tell that to the young lad who came on as a sub. He put himself about so much, he got himself booked.

Doyle gave up? He was one of the few that didn't

Sunny when you can be bothered to engage in a proper debate I'll be more than happy to partake

I didn't say the whole side went missing but if your supposed leaders can't be bothered to lead from the front then what example does that show?

Regards our bomb squad well your Doyle comment sums up your knowledge on subject

So the debate has inevitably got to the point where we're all actually agreeing that United were shlt but still managing to argue about in precisely what way they were shlt. Standard.

Good win for arsenal tonight, 8 points clear of us now and same games played. Got to say that any slim chance we had of catching them is just about extinguished now. Have to say as well that Newcastle have really turned things around, just a point behind Leicester now, would never have predicted that in January even with the Saudi billions.

posted on 21/4/22

Arsenal were never on the table in the real world to be honest. West Ham the ones we could genuinely have a chance of catching given their distraction.

posted on 21/4/22

Agree that Arsenal are out of our reach now so now we need to become Arsenal supporters. Their next two games are against Man Utd and West Ham and they’d be doing us a great favour by winning those
