The point I was trying to make was that if people deal with actual facts they might look at things slightly differently.

If we want to go into the realms of guesstimates I would say a fit and firing 31 year old Ramsey might be worth £10-15m to maybe a Newcastle.

But he hasnt been fit to play for us which is why he was being touted on loan to the Scottish Prem.

Aye its easy to forget about him.

Hes has less impact than Scott Wright did in half an hour at the weekend.

He was 20m Euros up front with potential for the deal to rise to 35m Euro.

He is miles off being worth anywhere near that kind of money.

Point is - which I already said - Celtic got good value for their spends. We havent actually gone out and bought anyone bar a back up RB and the loans/Bosmans havent worked out for us.

I think it’s fairly irrelevant the value of the players that have been brought in whenever we’re told how many millions the players already at Ibrox are worth, and then don’t add in the value of players that were brought in by rangers. If the point is that Celtic managed better deals in the transfer market, then that’s the point to make. The cost is fairly irrelevant when you’re going to exclude a player on wages of - allegedly- over £100k per week, and a player who was lauded on here as having a £40 million fee paid for him.

You can support GVB or you can think he's been schite we all want him to turn it around with two huge wins coming up.

It's safe to say there are two camps and reasonable reasons for being in either. Lose them both and there won't be of the first camp left.

Would be a surprise Fash, unless he walked of his own accord or there is a dismissal clause in his contract that means Rangers don't have to pay a fortune to get rid.

Besides even if he does lose tonight and Sunday would he not deserve a chance to sell and replace in the summer with his players and put out his team next season?

He has to show signs of progress to be allowed to bring his own players in.

Coaches have to make the players they have better first and foremost and he has not done that.

If he gets to the Europa semi and then knocked out at the weekend, that for me is probably the absolute bare minimum to be allowed to keep his job. I'd still not be happy but I wouldn't be totally surprised if he kept his job.

Context.

We were 6 points ahead and in every cup when he took over after demolishing Celtic last season who only had a full squad in January.

The semi final will paper over all of those cracks thats how impressive it would be.

First off Gio didnt start until after the Hibs semi.

Second - does it not occur to you that the gap in the league has closed mainly because celtic have got much much better rather than us getting worse?

When Gerrard left we had played 13 games and had 30 points. So he had a record of 2.3 points per game.

We have played 20 more league games since then and amassed 46 more points. Guess what Gios points per game record is?

You guessed it - 2.3 exactly the same as Gerrards.

So Gio has come in 1/3 of the way through a season, taken over someone elses team and performed to the same standard as the previous manager.

And up until the point Gerrard left celtic had won 26 points from 13 games (so the gap was actually 4 points when SG went) so they had an average of 2.0 points per game.

Since SG went Celtic have won 56 points in the subsequent 20 games - so they have stepped up to 2.8 points per game average since Gio came in.

Its also worth noting that Gio has also got us to the SC semi final and the quarter final of the Europa. Two things Gerrard failed to do last season.

Now I am not saying I am a massive Gio fan - he absolutely still has to convince me. But if you judge him on his record over all he has been identical in the league and an improvement on Gerrard over all.

Lets not kid ourselves on - the fact Celtic were a shambles was a massive help to us.

But celtic have bought in, what £40m+ worth of talent (I am not sure what CCV and Jota are valued at but I have seen figures of £10m and £8 respectively used several times).

And the main asset they sold was Eduouard who couldnt have looked less interested last season.

So - well done celtic - they have put their hand in theor pocket and they have improved massively - particularly since the turn of the year when they bought well in january and we didnt.

And despite Celtic being all over the place for the first few months of the season Gerrard still didnt do any better than Gio has since gone on to do in the face of a much stronger celtic team.

Folk clamouring for Gio to go right now are acting purely on emotions IMO.
