Whether it goes to De Bruyne or Salah will depend on when the vote is/was.
Stats aren't everything but no one else on the list is good enough to be considered.

Yes since AFCON he's not reached that level but he's still getting assists.

Penalties aren't a negative, but they're worth considering when comparing players. If Son had taken the 3 penalties Kane as scored this season and scored each of them he'd have two more goals than Salah. Would that suddenly make you think Son has had a better season?

Son deserves to be on the list, doesn't deserve to win it though.
De Bruyne for me. If Son overtakes Salah in the goal charts, then surely he has to be considered. Afterall it is supposed to be player of the season, not who plays for the teams of the season.
It`s an individual award for outstanding individual performances, rather than who plays for the best teams.

I respect that Steve F didn't realise the above comment was tongue in cheek, but Sandy actually read and commented on my 'Son is a fantastic and underrated player' article and still seemed to take it at face value. I guess he has form when it comes to contradicting himself, and we all do to some extent, but going from 'Son is underrated' to 'Son is overrated' in about three hours is a bit of a stretch.
Salah's levels have dropped this year to the point I'd find it difficult making him the POTS. I suppose you'd still have to give it to him if he ends up with most goals and assists. Otherwise Son or one of the City players.

I'd cut the Silver Stretty some slack but we have MU52 proving that dignified senior forum posting is eminently possible.
Salah probably deserves it, although KDB's 2nd half of the season will tilt the balance imo. Denis at Watford is worth a mention, 10 goals in 33 games in the team 19th is not shabby at all, he's 4th highest scoring striker in fantasy football this season. Suprised Ronaldo aint on the list, 36 and carried his team.
Before Christmas it seemed like Bernado Silva was going to be a shoe in to win the award or run it very close when he was on that ridiculous run of form. Surprised he hasn't even made the shortlist.
