The announcement of a new contract before the season was done or before even securing top 4 was arrogant to say the least, embarrassing move from the club.

Such strange timing when it's all to play for and we've achieved nothing. Arteta has potential but needs to be held accountable for failure, completely ballsed it up when we should have easily got top 4.

I noticed Arsenal lost every game they conceded first in the league. I remember under Ole last season we won so many games after conceding first lol.
Arteta was unable to get this bunch motivated for such an important game! They looked lethargic at times and, once again, on-field leaders were also missing-in-action!
Perhaps Arteta should now do the honorable thing and resign?

It's these kind of reactions that crack me up. It's just like the Wenger days where you have to think he's a god or think he's toxic for the club.
There's a lot of balanced fans out there who are neither pro nor anti Arteta. Some things he has done well, other things he has done poorly. The meltdown has been incredible and it shows how fine the margins are in football.
Amazing how fans can flip to being optimistic to having a huge tantrum.
No balanced fan is saying Arteta has done a great job but they're also not reacting like a child not getting their Champions League toy. When United lost to Brighton, some fan was like "United won't finish top 10 for the next 10 years" some people need to get a grip. Major surgery to the squad has been done, yes a lot of money has been spent but there were no expectations that Ramsdale, White, Tomiyasu and Odegaard were going to get us anywhere near top 4.
The club truly facked up in Jan, sending Auba off to Barca and expecting Lacazette and Nketiah who were already in the squad, to score goals. Even if we didn't sign a forward, we had goals and assists in Pepe and Arteta just barely used him. Only used when we were desperate and worked once in the one game we conceded first in but won against Wolves.
