I'm pleased for him and for the idea that this might be a breakthrough for other gay footballers to come out. At the same time it's not a news story that should be a big deal. The sooner this doesn't become news the better.

Well I'm in 2 minds about how much press this should get. On the one hand it has to be big enough that other gay footballers know of it and feel comfortable to come out because of it, and on the other hand you don't want to draw too much attention to something that should otherwise not have attention on it. If there are secretly gay footballers out there they probably want to see that this is quickly accepted and not made too much of a fuss of.

Well I'm in 2 minds about how much press this should get. On the one hand it has to be big enough that other gay footballers know of it and feel comfortable to come out because of it, and on the other hand you don't want to draw too much attention to something that should otherwise not have attention on it. If there are secretly gay footballers out there they probably want to see that this is quickly accepted and not made too much of a fuss of.
