Lawro has Spurs outside the top 4 in his season total predictions. Gonna be strange with no Lawro predictions and him also leaving.

With this post in mind, I took a minute to revisit the BBC website to remind myself who / what the "pundits" predicted.

So there were 20 of them, and everyone predicted top 4 of City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Utd. ( yeah, well done everybody )

Apart from one, Jermaine Backford who predicted Leicester 4th and Liverpool not in the top 4. ( points for originality Jermaine, but not so well done )

Some of the comments made were:

Upson - "it's a big ask for City to win the title without a CF" and "as things stand, with Lukaku, I back Chelsea to win it"

Sue Smith - "Winning the CL will give Chelsea massive confidence" ( sorry how many points are they adrift ?)

Danny Murphy - "The top four will be really tight"

Fara Williams - "Lukaka's goals will turn lots of draws into wins"

Michael Brown - "Chelsea will be right in the mix"

Chris Sutton ( on Utd ) - "the other three teams ( City, Liverpool, Chelsea ) have a better balance about them, but Sancho will give them that X- factor"

Upson - " He ( Verane ) and Maguire are a world class pairing"

Keowne - "I have this years title race as being as open as it has ever been. If Utd were to win it, I wouldn't be surprised"

Ashley Williams - "It's going to be really difficult for the others to crack the top 4. But anyone can, it will be Leicester"

Oh those wonderful pundits. Would guess they will come back with the same four in next year's predictions, whilst totally ignoring anyone else.

Reminds me of the classic film where Mike Bassett writes the England team selection on the back of a cigarette packet and someone phones two guys called Benson and Hedges and tells them they are in the England team.

Finally getting rid of the senile old mug, about 10 years overdue. Good riddance.
