Leicester at home to Southampton sounds far less risky than a couple of the "bankers" tbh.

My viewpoint was City, Pool, Arsenal Spurs all have something to play for and their opponents do not. I have Chelsea as a banker as Watford are terrible.

I can’t stand Southampton, they are so inconsistent you never know what to expect, I could easily see them winning that after Leicester played Thursday

Arsenal have nothing to play for, in truth. Also, Everton will be free from pressure for the first time, so expect them to play with freedom. Can see that either being a slow paced, friendly-like game or a silly high scoring game.

Liverpool is the other dodgy one, as I think Klopp knows he can't win it and has one eye on the CL and his teams fatigue. If City score first then I can see the crowd losing energy and it transferring onto the pitch. They will probably still get a result, but I think it will be a tough ask of them.

I suspect this might be the case although there's a rumour Erik is going to be in the stands so you watch the effort levels increase dramatically.

I'm on holiday and won't be around anyway. No intention of finding a bar to watch any footy either.

I expect A) Palace will be tired after Thursday B) United really don’t want to drop into the conference.

I think it might be a draw which would be a nightmare for United if West Ham win as they would drop into the conference and there is an early qualifying round for that

This game is potentially just as important as the CL final. We're going to go for it, for sure. Over a week of rest for most players and another week after this. We could do with scoring before City though.

First and last games of the season are always the ones to stay away from if you're smart. Too many additional variables in terms of players mentalities etc. You'll get a "shock" somewhere.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Tbh that's the case from about Easter time. So much harder to pick an acca as so many teams on the beach.

Like Everton staying up, for example. You have to give them credit for getting the results. But from United onwards, they've only faced you guys of teams really going for anything. And it's shown

It is better to go for things like goals (over 1.5 or 2.5) BTTS, corners etc on last day. Usually it is quite good for goals.
Last season only Sheff U 1-0 Burnley had under 1.5, with 6 games having over 2.5, with a total of 31 goals in the 10 games.

19/20 last day games had none under 1.5, with 6 over 2.5 and a total of 33 goals. 7 of the 10 games had BTTS success.

18/19 had a 0-0, but every other game was over 1.5 goals. Again, 6 were over 2.5, while 6 had BTTS. 36 goals on that day.

I tend to do low value bets. Last night I stuck £2.50 on three draws when the scores were Everton 0-2 Palace, Villa 0-0 Burnley, Chelsea 0-1 Leicester. £150 returns

Nearly came in but bloody Everton had to score a late winner

Fancy Everton to get something from Arsenal. They're playing quite well and will be in good spirits whilst Arsenal have a load of pressure on them. Can't see Spurs not beating Norwich but again the pressure may come into it.

Liverpool and City you would expect to win as you do most weeks but then odds are always shocking, especially in City's case.

Leicester should win.

If I were to pick four teams, as I always do, from the PL and try to get around 20/1, I'd go for:-

West Ham
Leicester
Palace
Spurs

19/1

I`ve had a cheeky Arsenal & Norwich double, which came in at 18/1, and will go part way to making me feel better should the unthinkable happen

Betting against your own team is the cardinal sin! Though I certainly understand the appeal

Disagree with that. This example is just superstition, but in general you should know your team better than any other, so it is always worth using that knowledge to win money.

There have been times when it has been quite obvious Arsenal were going to lose, but the odds on the opponents were very generous so well worth getting on. Last time I did it was Arsenal vs Palace at the Emirates. Managed to cash out as Lacazette was smashing in a late equaliser (benefit of being at the game!).

Yep I bet against Spurs a few times a season - and they are usually my most successful bets. You just know Spurs are going to lose sometimes even when they shouldn’t on paper

Predictions for this weekend:

Liverpool 3-0 Wolves
City 1-1 Villa (injury-time screamer from Coutinho)
Leeds to go down
Palace to beat Man Utd
Spurs to seal fourth

posted on 20/5/22

Arsenal vs Everton - BTTS or over 2.5 goals
Brentford vs Leeds - BTTS
Brighton vs West Ham - Over 2.5 goals or BTTS
Burnley vs Newcaste - Nothing
Chelsea vs Watford - Over 1.5 goals - maybe over 2.5
Palace vs Man Utd - Draw
Leicester vs Southampton - over 2.5 goals
Liverpool vs Wolves - Leaving it.
Man City vs Villa - over 1.5 goals
Norwich vs Spurs - over 2.5 goals (would consider over 3.5 goals)

posted on 20/5/22

Would be about 50/1 if I did all of them in an acca.
