Yes a great achievement from Ange who only took one season to do what 2 Rangers managers took to do in 4 seasons ( win two trophies) CL here we come! 🍀👍

One of my favourite seasons in all my years going to games. Excited for next year already.

Pretty gutted it's all over now tbh, no idea what to do for the next couple of months

It's OK if you are a fan of the open golf, Wimbledon or the women's euros.

If not we are doomed to boredom 😀

sadly it's pretty much football only for me. Might watch the women's Euros but won't be the same as watching Rangers.

Been an unreal season and one that both sides can take a lot of enjoyment from. Lot of chat that the Jota deal is more or less done and that CCV should follow but until I see it confirmed by the club I believe nothing! Outside of CCV & Jota I would like to see another LB, a decent one would be great, defo a CDM enforcer and a back up to Hart. If Jullien goes then as JFK says we need another CB a decent ball carrying one at that to suit Anges system. At least we have time to get all in place this season....

Should just combine them. The open women of Wimbledon.

Your regular posts about that are never forgotten. But it just shows you what an achievement Ange produced after the second transfer window. 😊

I am not really bothered whether folks think celtics season was better than ours tbh. It was different for sure.

I can genuinely say that this season was the most enjoyable for me that I can remember. Amazing effort from the team, some wonderful results and mind blowing matches to have had the privilege to go to.

Disappointment in the league and heartbreak in the Europa, but thats sport for you. Its as simple as that.

In terms of next season I expect the following to go;

McGregor
Goldson
Katic
Simpson
Diallo
Ramsey
Itten

I expect the following to be in our first team squad next season;

McLaughlin

Tavs
Zukowski
Helander
Balagoun
King
Souttar

Lowry
McCann
Jack
Sands
Lundstram
Arfield

Roofe
Sakala
Wright

And I think there are serious question marks over the future of;

Borna
Bassey
Kent
Kamara
Davis
Aribo
Morelos

Of the last lot I would maybe expect 3 or 4 of them to go. We need to avoid a Goldson type situ with those only having a year left on their deals. Sign a new deal or look to attract offers for them.

I expect Gio and Dave Voss to have 2 or 3 gems from the Dutch league that can potentially be sourced for a relatively modest amount. And the majority of players in will have to be funded by sales.

But we have sellable assets who will turn a healthy profit if they go so that cycle begins.

Yep there will be changes this summer for sure, although important to have some level of continuity.

However one of the things I'm encouraged by is the work GVB has done with those already there. There was an immediate improvement in Morelos before his injury, Bassey has become a centre back with a huge future, Scott Wright has started to look like a Rangers player and Lundstram has transformed.

He appears to be tactically flexible and it gives me some optimism that I don't think he will need millions to spend to get the most out whatever group he has. Which in fairness was something he demonstrated at Feyenoord when he won things there despite a budget and quality gulf between them and Ajax and PSV.

I think that both Ange and GVB are good managers who understand footballers and can deliver improvements. A big change from watching Ally and Lenny boxing each other and causing mayhem lol 😂

Aribo, Morelos and Kent have to be sold if they won’t sign a new contract. Can’t afford to lose them on a free transfer. Kamara signed a new contract in September, and given number of bodies that are likely to leave, surprised he’s being mentioned as someone who’ll leave.

Folk also forgetting Hagi!

Jota looks like he’s signing for Celtic, hopefully CCV doesn’t follow. But at least those two signings will cost a fair whack and won’t improve them from this season.

Yeah I think you can see that both teams are well coached and the last OF game was different to the usual blood and thunder. There seemed to be healthy respect between the two sides and next year should be a good contest.

He can be a bit stubborn heed with the angeball gung ho tactics.
How do you think that will play out amongst the big boys of champions league.
Can't see a psg or a Liverpool being caught like rabbits in the headlights like a Dundee or Motherwell.
Or us first half at celtic Park.
But fair dinkum you are there and deservedly so.
Time will tell.

If signing permanently improves Jota's consistency then I think it will very much improve us. Although admittedly there's no guarantee of either of those things happenening.

Ange is a wise leader and knows that on occasion Celtic will need to defend and dig deep. The team showed that on a few occasions last season. In Europe Celtic will need to be pragmatic and defend all over the park. With a few new faces and the new guys rested we should see better progress in Europe. Ange is a fast learner and will not be content with only winning a couple of domestic trophies again 👍

I don't know, there haven't really been any signs of flex from him before. It's why you got knocked out of 3 competitions last season in Europe and why he got 0 points in his time managing Australia in the WC.

Effective style against teams you are better than but he will need to deviate from it in the CL or it will be a repeat of how Rodgers did at that level despite being invincible domestically.

Agreed and that is why he will adapt Celtic’s style of play to suit the occasion. He has stated that his first season is only the beginning so what this space.

I agree.

And I think Gio and Voss might be the guys to handle the integration of Lowry, King and McCann as fully fledged members of the first team and help them maximise their potential.

You never know with young players coming through but those three all seem to be taking the step up to the first team in their stride.

I completely forgot about Hagi! Hopefully he will have no ill effects from his injury and can come back strong.

Morelos is still limping so he is some way off. Thats one thing that might hold up any potential transfer out.

How bad is Tyrone Mings btw?

See his defending for the third City goal yesterday? Just awful.

He is another one who I think would last five minutes if he came up here to Rangers or Celtic.

Quite happy with the break.

Wimbers and Ascot to look forward to (not Ascot so much); few weekend breaks but away for the mostly the entirety of the summer until late August.

All ready for the new season.
