A year from now, not this year. IF of course my fanciful tale comes true. Infinitely more likely Lampard is sacked and the new guy doesn't want a back three and Coady returns next summer.
I think all you have just pointed out Cinci, is how difficult it is to make the right decisions. There are so many variables. Something I honestly think Fosun handle very well.

Everton have injuries to their CB's, plus Coady wanted a move if he was going to be warming the bench, which would have done his chances of a WC spot being reduced. Some on here really don't understand the complexities of transfers.

Because its a loan, not a transfer.
That doesn't mean we didn't try and sell him Tam.
The transfer window is still open for another 21 days. If we were really trying to sell him, he wouldn't be out on loan at this point.
It depends on interest Tam. If there was a lot, maybe it may have been worth waiting. But we are risking having a player sitting on the bench, who's value will fall.
His value will fall more if he has an unsuccessful loan and comes back with less time on his contract (not that they havent put a low value on the loan anyway), than if he spent a few weeks on the bench at the beginning of the season.
Of course you know all this, you're just on the wum again.
Know what Tam? You and i know if Coady spends a season on the bench his value will fall. That is guaranteed.
The loan means a possible loan fee, a saving on wages, and a possible sale at the end of it. His loan could work out well for everyone.

There are parameters attached to this transfer and sometimes that includes the amount of appearances. If he reaches that level, then the permanent deal is triggered.
