Germany, at the risk of being nut kicked, if Raph
went to Man U, I wouldn't be offended at all. Above
all he's done a great job for us. He's an outstanding
talent and deserves every bit of success coming.
If it's with them, so be it. As long as we get a boat
load for him that offsets the Dan James robbery.

Batty, he can do whatever he wants for me, players are free men/women the same as us!..

I just remember what happened when one off ours had not much choice, but, I still have never seen the photo!..

I wonder what happened to that!..

Kiko was on 40k.

What do you mean was?

He still has a year to run on his contract...

He'll easily command north of 100k a week.

Isn't he currently on 50k a week with us?

Pay him 100k a week. That's £5m a year over 5 years that is £25m cost a lot more than that to replace him like for like.

The more I read about O'Brien the more I want us to sign him. It's to the point now I'll be really disappointed if we don't sign him.
What do people think our chances are?
This time of year is a pleasure when we have a few players already signed but torture when nothing's happening.
Especially when we need 5 or 6 players.

He's nowhere near the top of the list for Championship players. Whay makes you think he would survive in the Premier League, Mont?

9 out of the top 10 are playing for teams that are promoted thus pumping up their value immensely.

Add to that the fact that you have Johnston at 12 who has a market value of effectively zero as he is leaving on a free in a few days.

I dont see how those two factors alone make this list all that credible in determining if O'brien would be a decent buy

As far as I'm aware, I've not looked into it too much, he has a release clause in his contract.

And when we consider how worrying our entire central midfield cohort is at the moment

We have brought in the new lad yes, but if you actually look at what we have from last year we need a massive, massive rebuild in terms of midfield.

Apart from the new lad and phillips all our other central midfielders, klitch, Dallas, Forshaw and Rodrigo are over thirty, Dallas is a long term loss and Forshaw breaks something whenever he hiccups, Klitch as much as I love him is clearly well past his best and Rod, despite in my opinion being a useful player is clearly never going to even get close to value for money for what we paid for him.

O'brien would be a good signing because because as MONT states we need to completely overhaul the midfield and O'brien can and well offer the depth we are needing and leave us the money to also get in the other players we are going to need

In short, watching him play is makes people think he'd be a good addition.

I'm assuming he was likely one of the players who recieved a salary increase upon promotion.
