Davis and Arfield I wasnt so fussed about. Goldson signing is huge for us, massive !

If we have no intention of selling Aribo, Kent, Morelos and Bassy this summer then we need to look at extending their deals

I would imagine they are working on that right now.

Davis and Arfield will be on reduced wages and will be expected to contribute on an as required basis. They will be good guys to have around.

Its still early but its not quite looking like the major rebuild that was being talked up in some quarters.

you could argue that celtic have more to do in terms of rebuilding than us !

two first team picks (arguably their best two players last year) still to be signed just for them to remain the team they were

Was Rogic not nominated for POTY awards as well last season?

I thought the rags were saying their two loanees were all but signed up?

Suppose they were the same rags that said Goldson was already packed up and ready to go.....

he might have been nominated but I dont think he is anywhere near as influential as CCV or Jota were

Goldson is a massive signing. Sure we’ll have given him a big signing bonus as can imagine he’d have had other big offers, and more importantly saves us the 6m at would have least cost to replace him, and even that replacement couldn’t have been a flop.

Huge player for us, level of performances, always available and one of the leaders in the squad.

Itten and Davis are good news. But imagine we’ll have more to do than article makes out, a top goalkeeper would be huge, although happy enough with McLaughlun. Have to imagine at least two of Aribo, Morelos, Kent or Bassey will leave.

interesting that goldson opted to stay, if forrest was the only offer it doesnt shock me though.

tbh its a good move for rangers because him leaving for free would be criminal.

if we get our 2 loanees on permant deals i'm not so sure.

i think we won't know who has the bigger rebuild until one of us loses someone.

if rangers lose morelos thats a biggy.

is mcgregor staying or has he chucked it?

posted on 1/6/22

Hoping McGregor had chucked it, as good as cost us the league last season.

Not sure Morelos is as big a loss as I would’ve thought a few months ago. Looking at where we got to I. Europe and still winning the semi final and final of the cup. He’d probably have won us the Europa league though

As predicted Goldson couldn't even get a team on a free despite having had a great run in Europe and costing his team very few goals.

Absolutely delighted to see the big haddie have to accept that he's not as good as he thinks he is.

I would doubt if any of the rest of the galacticos will be able to get teams either.

some of the saves he made probably won you a fair few as well, and got you to a european final.

one i think rangers fans won't really miss until he is gone.

Goldson and Sh@gger were the only first team regulars that was confirmed as leaving us or at least we thought it was.

now Goldson is staying and the vast majority agree that Sh@ggers levels drop with every season that passes and I personally think McLaughlin is the better keeper now.

Celtic have CCV, Jota and rogic away (there are others but those 4 are 1st team regulars).

So as things stand celtic need to either re-sign 3 first team players or replace them for next year.

this to me indicates that as things stand there is more to be done for you guys and as things stand you will prob need to spend over 14m just to be at the level you were at last season.

thats a bold statement , time will prove mcgregor a better keeper i think.

we're likely signing CCV and Jota, not worried about that.

Rogics replacement is O'Riley.

we need a left back and if julien goes we need a cb.

i'd like a CDM but i dont think thats on the cards.

Happy with Goldson staying as a celtic fan , hes one we can definitely get at again

So many rangers fans seemed happy for him to go which tells its own story-

we will bring in players to help us

Jota and CCV remaining has to be priority though

I wonder if they’ll start blaming Bassey for the goal they lost in the Europa league final now…

Davis will always be a good player to have around , never lets anyone down when he plays

i thought he kinda changed the game in the europa final - just ticks things over and has a great nose for where to be

poor scott wright and Goldson taking all the blame - glaringly obvious who was to blame

I think Goldson is one that always split Rangers fans. First half of last season he was a bit all over the place but a lot of that was put down to his contract situation.

As much as he is not perfect he is without doubt an asset to the club though. He rarely misses a game, he is a leader in there and his stats, from the Europa for example, show he is a bloomin good defender on his day.

Goldson was never going to go to a top half Prem club - it was always going to be a Championship team competing for promotion or a bottom 6 team.

I actually suspect that Forrest getting promoted might have put the Kaibosh on a deal for Goldson. If they hadnt gone up I suspect Worrall would have been sold and Goldson was lined up for free as his replacement.

I am pretty sure there were a few posters on here recently telling us that Goldson would be a big miss when it looked like he was for the off.

I guess those tunes might have changed again with this news.

the goal was on bassey, he lets the man run off him and score.

inexperience cost him, its the one attribute that you can't have as a young man, unless you're one of these guys with terrific insight and ability to read the ball.

wtf was Worrall chatting about at the play off final post match interview ??

“I keep using the expression ‘like a whipped dog’. If you treat any dog with kindness, then they become a nice dog,”
“If you mistreat one, then they’re aggressive, and we were, we’ve been a mistreated team.

I think you should be. Wasn’t May 31st the deadline for Celtic having exclusivity on CCV?
