Conte doesn’t fancy him. Assume another loan to a Spanish team

Lots of reports on it. Go read them

most European teams will jot pay 30-40m for anyone but top end talent. a lot of the big teams are hoovering up freebies or having to sell to raise money for new players.

Ajax will struggle to raise 20m.

It will need to be a PL team or a deal with add ons to get anything near 35m.

Well he doesn't pick him much that's for sure, but let's not pretend that reports know anything more than we can observe during the season.

I personally think he likes him but Son is far superior and to start Bergy over Son is too big a step down in quality/end product.

Bergwijn has been handled poorly at Spurs. Was Jose's scapegoat after his Liverpool misses. Then pretty much cast aside after his Leicester heroics.

There's definitely a quality player in there. I'm surprised there aren't midtable prem clubs after him for £20-25m. Think he would be a good prem player if he started every week.

I’m a big fan but he’s nowhere near sons level and missed some huge chances while here where as a second choice he had to take.

Anyone who’s understudy to Son & Kane will always struggle for game time.

The one opportunity was on the right to take Lucas place which Kulusevski found easy

Oddly I wouldn't mind a season loan if he has 3 to 4 years still left on his contract. His value should increase after World Cup

Lucas, Kane and Son are all around 30. Bergwijn is 24. We don't have enough forwards as it is

Be honest. Gil is too lightweight for the Prem. Like GLC he is more suited to the La Liga.

Ajax have plenty of money. Look at the players they have sold and the fees recieved for them. They have CL money too but are just tight. Their record signing is Haller for £20m.

We should demand £20m at least, then insert a sell on clause for 30% minimum on any profit after Ajax have got their £20m back.

Other clubs are interested too so hopefully Ajax can do one and he goes to Italy.

I trust we are not going to let Berg leaving hold up any spending over the window? Would rather let him go for a few million less than our valuation than keep a player who doesn't want to stay and therefore probably won't be adding much to the squad.

I can remember Pat Nevin raving about Gil`s ability, he was comparing him to David Silva, no way should we be selling him permanently, given that Conte will probably be gone in a year or two, the next manager may fancy him and he has huge potential.

Ajax have bid £15m for Bergwjin, I can`t believe Levy would sell him for anything less than £25m, I would rather keep him if we can`t get a decent fee for him. He will need replacing with the same quality of better.

Totally agree. How Lucas got more game time I dont know but then again how Tanganga played all 3 Chelsea matches is another mystery. Must be something in training

I'd bet on Gil to beat up Winks. So if Winks isn't lightweight then neither is Gil. I think it's not based on much. I watched Gil take out Traore with a thought tackle..he's got more fight than many give him credit for. Could be an awesome LWB in a few years or a left wing in a different formation.

Ajax had 8 million loss in 2021 and won't do much better for 2022.

I see Everton are interested in Bergwijn.

Isn't the definition of madness doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different outcome?

If so they might want to look at how their recent x Spurs contingent has worked out. Lennon, Sigurdsson, Townsend and Dele should be warning enough!
