world cup should be starting soon, but nah, a handful of bawbags took a backhander to have it in a country thats too hot for summertime.
A drab 1-0 win in a game that won't be remembered much after next week. Hard to get up for it but of course I will be watching it. I didn't get tickets for it and don't really have the motivation to go which is very unusual for me

What are you implying mate?
honestly though, world cup summers are the best.
always love the groups.
Group A: Qatar (hosts), Ecuador, Senegal, Netherlands
Group B: England, Iran, United States, Wales
Group C: Argentina, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Poland
Group D: France, Peru / Australia / United Arab Emirates, Denmark, Tunisia
Group E: Spain, Costa Rica / New Zealand, Germany, Japan
Group F: Belgium, Canada, Morocco, Croatia
Group G: Brazil, Serbia, Switzerland, Cameroon
Group H: Portugal, Ghana, Uruguay, Korea Republic
they groups are schite btw.
group E is the only group that could be tasty
I actually agree football should be developed in countries like Qatar but let's face it they are never recouping the $220bn they've spent. Only (only ) $10bn has been spent on stadia. The rest is on associated infrastructure but still a remarkable sum for a country of 2.9m - 1.7m of them migrants!
Here’s what World Cup costs have looked like since the U.S. hosted in 1994:
United States 1994: $500 million
France 1998: $2.3 billion
Japan 2002: $7 billion
Germany 2006: $4.3 billion
South Africa 2010: $3.6 billion
Brazil 2014: $15 billion
Russia 2018: $11.6 billion
Qatar 2022: $220 billion
They expect a one off $20bn boost due to the WC. The rest is probably part of a plan to emulate Dubai somewhat?

----------------------------------------------------------------------
2011: Former FIFA VP Jack Warner made public emails that claimed Qatar (specifically AFC President Mohamed Bin Hammam) had “bought” the rights to win the bid.
2014: The Sunday Times reported that Mohamed Bin Hammam made payments totaling $5 million to football officials in return for their support for the Qatar bid.
2019: The Sunday Times reported that FIFA would receive an alleged $880 million in two installment payments from Al Jazeera pending a successful bid.
2020: The U.S. Department of Justice formally accused three South American officials of receiving bribes to ensure votes for Qatar.
Qatari officials have denied any wrongdoing since the bid was won.
In 2014, FIFA, then run by Sepp Blatter, cleared Qatar of the alleged wrongdoings. But in 2015, Blatter resigned from his position amid a formal criminal investigation by Swiss officials into the 2018 and 2022 World Cup bids.

Aye, if the shoulder-shrugging cants all fall out with each other again it could be fun
How in fack have England done the jammy group AGAIN? Unless FIFA recognise its the only way the serial tournament underachievers carry their TV audience with them? Aside from that what's the chances some Iranian bomber or something evading the inevitably suspect Qatari security to get at the US team?

Pretty sure Patterson will get the RB spot. He might try Hickey at LB or LM but then both he and the manager are under pressure. They wanted this Nations league thing to cut the number of friendlies without thinking through the pressure every game limiting chances to blood newbies.

That’s worth the lives of 4,000 dead migrant workers in itself.
Disgrace that Scotrail are telling fans to leave the match early if they want to get home.
I imagine if Scotrail workers went out and blocked the M8 every evening after 8pm they'd resolve the dispute within minutes.
It is pure discrimination and racism against public transport users.

I laughed in his face and told him it ain't hockey.

Put the Train Driver wages down to £30k and hire double the current staff, they will get the numbers they need and everycvnt will work overtime.
Not the team I expected but that's not necessarily a bad thing:
Scotland: Gordon (GK), Robertson (C), Souttar, McGinn, McGregor, Adams, Christie, Hendry, McKenna, Armstrong, Ralston.
Substitutes: Clark (GK), Kelly (GK), Patterson, McTominay, Hanley, Stewart, Gilmour, Cooper, Turnbull, Brown, Campbell, Hickey.
