Lewa looks nailed on to me.

The rumours are suggesting that Kounde and Raphinha would cost around EUR120m, and if they discover/decide that they can’t afford that, they’ll go for Koulibaly (last year of his contract) and di Maria (free agent) instead.

Barca are a shambles, they need to have a good 3-4 years of just clearing as much debt and wages as possible while hanging onto the CL place which shouldnt be a problem.

The spending over the past decade has been border line shambolic (Arsenal esk) while letting players on big wages hang around and then go for peanuts or on a free.

Coutinho/Dembele/Griezemann almost £400Mil right there waster not even including wages.

Barca need a shrewd president and board at this time. Their financials are a disaster.

Laporta is a big improvement on the last 2 presidents they've had tbh

With Madrid winning the La Liga/CL double and the new look Bernabeu nearing completion, there is massive pressure on Farza to keep up

Their entire history has been based on trying to keep up with and try and be better than R Madrid. It's the main driving force behind that mess of a club

A lot of the links are just gossip, but there also seems a desperation in their dealings.

Ed used that that same model to run Utd. I'm surprised we aren't' in as much financial mess as they are since Barca's turnover is higher than Utd's.

It's actually excellent journalism, their job is to generate revenue and with the rapid decline of papers and the even more rapid rise of digital media, sponsorship now generates revenue and clicks generate sponsorship therefore any story that entices a click will ultimately generate revenue.

We fund the bull they write

I think they have both now, tbh.

It’s Bartomeu who nearly bankrupted the club. Laporta seems to understand the problem.

They’ve signed a massive contract with Spotify for stadium naming rights, have refinanced the debt with a new EUR500m loan, have shifted an eye-watering amount of money off the wage bill already and relying on promoting from La Masia again…

It’s crazy that they were once the pre-eminent team in pro football.

Now they’re a joke. I actually feel bad for them.

I always thought that when CR7 left, Barca would dominate with Messi still there. But Real are the dominant force in Spain and will be for the next several years.

those values are only applicable if paying all the costs up front.

they can structure the deals over all different time periods. your also assuming the only money brought in is from transfers.

dominant ....??? one league title in a row. they ahve won 3 of the last 10 leagues, with barca winning it 5, and Atleti winning 2.

they may go on and become dominant but they are not at the moment.

You still amortise the cost of the transfer over the contract length. So the full value is taken in to account.
