Here we go. Another street circuit. Lets see if Ferrari can keep it together.

A week after their failures in Baku with no time to work on the car. They’ll notch down the power and hope they can finish 3-4

The track screams out Red Bull so no doubt we’ll see

Max
Perez
Leclerc
Norris
Hamilton

Sainz DNF

Ever since Sainz signed he is pants. Ever since Checo signed, he is on par with Max.

Checo is closer to Max than any other teammates he’s had but he’s still a way off with consistency. For the sake of this season I hope he starts getting his elbows out on Max and actually give us something to watch

some people are so simple minded though and just assume that cos a driver struggles then they are crap , overated or whatever.

they never really think of what the car is like to drive.

the reason Perez is more on par with Verstap is he has a car that far suits his style more than Max. Max likes a light front end and a back that steps out... checo is pretty much the opposite. Last year the car behaved almost exactly like Max likes.

this year though the cars are heavier, stiffer and they understeer much more.

Lewis is in the same boat he also like a car that get the front end in easy and then balances the back end.

neither these cars are ideally behaving the way Max and Lewis would like them too.

WDI...Comparing Max & Lewis struggles, in comparison to their teammates is a bit misleading.

Lewis has predominantly been playing the suboptimal experimental role with his difficult car set-ups, to gather data and expunge issues. Whilst Russell is on a more comfortable set-up.
Very different variables to contend with in relation to Max.

Max is on a equal footing (even sometimes having performance upgrades advantage solely on his car) with Perez...in a fast paced stable car, and getting beat on occasions fairly.

Thanks for the insult, but all I am saying is that Ever since Sainz signed he is pants. Ever since Checo signed, he is on par with Max. They didnt sign new contracts exactly between the old and new car. Up until Sainz renewed he was driving great and then starting crashing and making mistakes.

I love how this excuse has come from nowhere and been made gospel by the Hamilton faithful. Something never done in the history of the sport - making your No. 1 driver a guinea pig for experimental parts - and it just so happens to perfectly excuse why Hamilton is getting rinsed by his much less experienced teammate.
Very interesting that none of the experimentation on Hamilton's set-up has actually made him faster. Some pretty crappy experiments then.

Excuse out of nowhere?
Have you been living under a rock?
Lewis running subotimal set-ups has been the case from the beginning of the season, when the car has been an absolute handful to drive on their 'zero pod concept'.

It is well-known (admitted by Russell himself)...Lewis is carrying more weight, sensors, different set-ups on his car which will cost lap-time and performance, there's been times when Russell & Lewis are on the same set-up and the latter ahead just been unlucky with the timing of a safety car, but you continue with your long-standing agenda against Lewis.

"FIA will not penalise teams at Montreal for severe bouncing despite new Technical Directive.
It was deemed too difficult to find fair limits in short time during this weekend. The announced bouncing test in FP3 will run as planned to gather data." -

Yeah man, that's exactly it.

"Hey, we've got the highest paid F1 on the grid, the face of all our sponsors, the man we've put everything behind for the past decade and given him the car that's made him the most successful F1 driver of all time. Let's deliberately slow him down this season in favour of his new teammate. Sure we could be fighting for 2nd in the WCC but I think slowing down our star man is the way to go."

And everyone in the room clapped and agreed it was the bestest idea ever.

Come on. This is Mercedes we're talking about - not Ferrari.

Alternatively... Mercedes are using/relying on a vastly experienced 7-time World Champion to solve a problematic newly concepted car under different regs, over a rookie.
That works.

Looks like Aston Martin & Alpine have made a step forward.

Whether their pace in practice sessions translates to qualifying and race remains to be seen (could be using higher engine modes & lower fuel).

Max got his mojo back, beating Leclerc in both sessions. Great seeing Seb on it too
