The story goes that Spurs have been tracking the player for a very longtime, so as far as the link with the player goes, it is not new.
Though it is new, and a change from previous attempts, is that Spurs are willing to go and match Inter's demands.
However, the player isn't being sought for playing second fiddles. He will be given a full role and first selection.
The player has been successful for Inter playing alongside a holding striker or front player, with Lukaku in the side. There is no reason why Conte could not replicate this at Spurs.

what's so hard to understand having 4 quality striker covering 3 positions? even if we spent 80m our front 4 would have cost us 130n
it's not a case of replacing or having someone to sit on the bench, its having 4 quality players to cover the 150 odd starts up front over a season

We’ve bought Bentancur and Bissouma to complement Skipp and PEH. We are favourites to sign Eriksen also. Additionally we have 2 decent youth prospects in Sarr and and Devine for CM. I think our spending is complete in that position bar Eriksens signing on fee.
We’ve spent £25m so far and will likely drop nearer £200m this summer after sales are taken into account. The remaining money is likely to be on Spence, 2 CB’s and a Striker.
Spence and N’dicka will be about £50m combined, which would leave us circa £125m for another CB and forward.
Eriksen, from all relatively solid sauces, has made his choice, from United, Brentford and a return to Spurs.
He prefers London and wants to play in CL.
Draw your own conclusions/
One another thing: this is not usual way of dealing from Spurs but we are talking about Conte, and he doesn't settle for also rans, middle of the road types, and is demanding high calibre players. I believe he really wants to hit the big things in football with Spurs.

I’ve said this before but Conte is a breath of fresh air at this club. Everyone says it will go wrong at some point, but that’s true of 99% of managers, it’s what he is doing in the here and now - which is giving us our belief back and really getting our fans excited.
Paratici seems to be a shrewd operator and they seem to be an effective partnership. Even Darth is playing ball and signing the faaacking cheques.
Could be a great season for us

Martinez at 80m spence for 20 and bissouma at 30 that's most the budget gone. Could get 20-30 for ndombele maybe. Can't see winks, dier, Davies, reggie or sachet raising big amounts. Also don't think spurs can afford to get rid of them all at once either.
Total rebuilds take time. What's good enough for top 4 is quite a gap from what u need to challenge for the league. As I said before 300m plus sales problem wouldn't get it done in this window when u see the mad price of players now.

We’ve bought Bentancur and Bissouma to complement Skipp and PEH. We are favourites to sign Eriksen also. Additionally we have 2 decent youth prospects in Sarr and and Devine for CM. I think our spending is complete in that position bar Eriksens signing on fee.
We’ve spent £25m so far and will likely drop nearer £200m this summer after sales are taken into account. The remaining money is likely to be on Spence, 2 CB’s and a Striker.
Spence and N’dicka will be about £50m combined, which would leave us circa £125m for another CB and forward.

That mf sounds pretty weak tbh. Over a season I can't see that being good enough to get into the top 3. I think money be better used on some top talent in mf and defence. Attack isn't so much of a prob but defence and mf would benefit way more from the cash than 80 m on a striker.
Would be an improvement on what spurs have for sure but spurs have 1 decent CB and no good wb which Conte likes. Perisic and Eriksen would save some money til next year I guess.

That was a season when every team bar spurs were in disarray. Pointing to a freak season as a reason to not spend $ seems a weird flex.

Unless u haven't noticed Levy did try the Leicester cheapo approach and it failed miserably.
I didn't say spurs have to spend millions but it's what Conte does, and the club's backing him. If you are going to spend money and have a limited budget blowing a large chunk in the area spurs are strongest just seems a strange choice. Spurs have a good attack it's the mf and defence that aren't great.

This same argument can be labelled at Jurgen and Liverpool, who have a very good attack, and strengthened with Jota, then added Diaz, and now spent a massive amount on an unproven attacking player, and yet Liverpool mdifield looked frail and the defense looked leaky with Trent showing weaknesses in his position?
It is obvious from Jurgen and Conte, that despite it all being maybe a tad simple for us that we need to bolster defense/mf in the end it is about options in attack.
Under Conte, we dropped points against sides who come to defend, so we need variation in attack.
Eriksen delay is down to him being on holiday. If he’s coming then I expect everything has been put into place regarding fees wages etc and he’ll take a medical when he returns to the UK.

One another thing: this is not usual way of dealing from Spurs but we are talking about Conte, and he doesn't settle for also rans, middle of the road types, and is demanding high calibre players. I believe he really wants to hit the big things in football with Spurs.

I’ve said this before but Conte is a breath of fresh air at this club. Everyone says it will go wrong at some point, but that’s true of 99% of managers, it’s what he is doing in the here and now - which is giving us our belief back and really getting our fans excited.
Paratici seems to be a shrewd operator and they seem to be an effective partnership. Even Darth is playing ball and signing the faaacking cheques.
Could be a great season for us

Yeh the best front three overall in the PL in Son Kane Kulu and Conte is going to change his entire career formation of 3-4-3 to play two up top, and Spurs are going to pay £80m

Spurs need defenders at romero level. Dier and the rest aren't upto it if spurs want to win trophies. Buying an 80m striker isn't the answer. Even in mf spurs have 2 decent players but could do with way more quality if they want to compete.
Sounds like drivel to me. Be a terrible way to use the money unless spurs are spending 250-300m

That won't be enough and can't expect a new defence and midfield in this window. Seems a bit of a stretch even if it's wishful thinking.
Martinez at 80m spence for 20 and bissouma at 30 that's most the budget gone. Could get 20-30 for ndombele maybe. Can't see winks, dier, Davies, reggie or sachet raising big amounts. Also don't think spurs can afford to get rid of them all at once either.
Total rebuilds take time. What's good enough for top 4 is quite a gap from what u need to challenge for the league. As I said before 300m plus sales problem wouldn't get it done in this window when u see the mad price of players now.

We’ve bought Bentancur and Bissouma to complement Skipp and PEH. We are favourites to sign Eriksen also. Additionally we have 2 decent youth prospects in Sarr and and Devine for CM. I think our spending is complete in that position bar Eriksens signing on fee.
We’ve spent £25m so far and will likely drop nearer £200m this summer after sales are taken into account. The remaining money is likely to be on Spence, 2 CB’s and a Striker.
Spence and N’dicka will be about £50m combined, which would leave us circa £125m for another CB and forward.

That mf sounds pretty weak tbh. Over a season I can't see that being good enough to get into the top 3. I think money be better used on some top talent in mf and defence. Attack isn't so much of a prob but defence and mf would benefit way more from the cash than 80 m on a striker.
Would be an improvement on what spurs have for sure but spurs have 1 decent CB and no good wb which Conte likes. Perisic and Eriksen would save some money til next year I guess.

That was a season when every team bar spurs were in disarray. Pointing to a freak season as a reason to not spend $ seems a weird flex.
Spending money well is what separates successful teams from United 😂
Unless u haven't noticed Levy did try the Leicester cheapo approach and it failed miserably.
I didn't say spurs have to spend millions but it's what Conte does, and the club's backing him. If you are going to spend money and have a limited budget blowing a large chunk in the area spurs are strongest just seems a strange choice. Spurs have a good attack it's the mf and defence that aren't great.

This same argument can be labelled at Jurgen and Liverpool, who have a very good attack, and strengthened with Jota, then added Diaz, and now spent a massive amount on an unproven attacking player, and yet Liverpool mdifield looked frail and the defense looked leaky with Trent showing weaknesses in his position?
It is obvious from Jurgen and Conte, that despite it all being maybe a tad simple for us that we need to bolster defense/mf in the end it is about options in attack.
Under Conte, we dropped points against sides who come to defend, so we need variation in attack.

Eriksen delay is down to him being on holiday. If he’s coming then I expect everything has been put into place regarding fees wages etc and he’ll take a medical when he returns to the UK.
