Give them the benefit of the doubt and tip them extra. If they’re not providing good customer service they will appreciate the extra money and provide a better service to the next customer

Is that not encouraging poor service though? For example if they get paid a nice tip for being below standard, then they'll think 'below standard' is above standard and carry on providing it for more customers.

Didn’t you tell the driver that you didn’t want a chat? That would have been the obvious thing to do.
Also, I’m surprised you didn’t have a chauffeur to pick you up, or that you didn’t have the use of a helicopter.

Imagine being so pathetic that you have to pretend to be wealthy enough to spend £600 on an Uber, but also fly with Ryanair

No, they use the extra money as incentive to improve customer service or to train to get a better job. If anything I don’t think you tip enough. 35% is pitiful in 2022

Why didn’t you just tell the driver you will tip extra if he Shut da fuhck up - would have solved everything. I would expect a man of your supposed standing to have the wherewithal to put it straight to the driver.

Instead you come off as a bit soft in this story

I probably won't be using them again after what happened a few weeks ago.

The driver should've known though. You need to know your customers to deliver them a superb service.

Because they should already know after 10 minutes of me giving off monosyllabic answers. He didn't. He continued and it was a terrible experience for me the customer.

The first issue I had, was that I got an Uber back from Euston station to where I live in Hale Barns as it had been a long day and I didn’t fancy the hassle of getting back on the train.

You couldn't be bothered to get a 2.5 hour train journey so instead booked a 3.5 hour Uber?

By having the initiative to read your customer. Surely you know how to read someone by looking at their body language and listening to their replies??

Try doing the same with Ryanair but some sweaty couple sit next to you instead. That's my other dispute.

Realistically there are no ways to avoid budget airlines like them and EJ for short haul flights.

Or instead of expecting an Uber driver/mind reader you could’ve outright said you’re not in the mood to talk.
