We got it quite bad in the media when we sold him for what we bought him for (or close too). Chelsea bought him for £100m and let him go on loan a year later less than 10% of what they paid.

I was surprised Chelsea even when for him, and couldn't understand why people weren't questioning it. Was never going to work with Tuchel's style of play.
Another record signing flop for us. From Shevchenko to Torres and now Lukaku. Need to just stay away from strikers.

Without seeing the stats I would hazard a guess that he is the most expensive transfer in football history in terms of cumulative transfer fee? Remarkable really.
He could actually be an elite striker, in spite of his technical deficiencies. His main problem though is and always has been that he is a bit of a mental midget who will throw in the towel at the first sign of hardship. You could visibly see him start to hide at Old Trafford when the crowd got on his back a bit. I imagine it was the same at Chelsea.
Good luck to him, good player in his own right but he's found his level.
