I was hoping we would have been in for him.

yeah, few fans worried about midfield, thinking we'll go for bellingham next year or someone. But next year we'll probably be losing bobby and salah for nothing.

we'll be left with darwin jota and diaz?

We have three starters in Diaz, Nunez and Salah, with Jota who can play all across the front three and Firmino likewise. We then have Elliott who can play right, Ox who can play both sides, Jones who can play left. Carvalho I don't know a whole lot about but I know he played wide many times for Fulham.

Let's not forget that we now have an actual out and out strikers so the wide players don't always have to be forwards in the Mane and Salah type, they can be creators, rather than top goalscorers.

If we need to sign for a certain position, it's midfield for me, although it's not a necessity right away, we can wait a season if the right player is not available.

Carvalho replaces Mina and Origi played about 400 minutes all season.

We have 8 central midfielders which is plenty.

People worry too much.

We pay klopp to do this worrying.

Not sure we are weaker squad wise but more a case of the unknown. We have got some new young attackers with no PL experience replacing the reliable ones.

He scored plenty last season, just in the domestic cups. He was key to Liverpool winning them tbh, he was just never going to get picked in the big games.

Good profit on him and the kid works his socks off and has a good work ethic. Some of his finishes last year were lovely but as Klopp admitted, he deserves game time.

What are pool fans thoughts about the supposed new priority now to improve and extend Keitas contract

Seems like a United thing to do not a current Liverpool move

We should get rid but with Salah and Bobby running down contracts we can't have another freebie. We need a new midfielder and someone who will push Keita down to 5th choice because currently after Fab, Thiago and Hendo the next option is Keita

I'd be happy if we extend Keita, he's a good player and can cover two of the 3 midfield roles we utilise.

Good to get a player tied down when he's the right age. He played more games last season so hopefully he's over the injuries.

I personally don't think keita is top quality but he has enough about him to be a good enough player to have for majority of the games. So yeah good we keep him.on the books, esp if he is injury free

still not seen the best of him but atleast he was more available last season. At worst hes a solid squad option, replacing him would cost a lot of money, hes still 27 and just entering peak years so makes sense. Losing him for free would suck, despite his injury problems i imagine there be plenty of interest for such a talented player especially for free.

The best Japanese player in the Prem for that spell in between Yoshida leaving Southampton and Tomiyasu joining Arsenal.

Keith tire united a new one at old Trafford I'm sure. He is far from a bad player just far more effective in certain games than others. Not a's consistent as expected but he has def contributed to trophies and makes sense to renew, instead of losing for free, which is slowly becoming the norm.
