What about her bloodied face and the bruises on her body ?

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Has it been proven that he is responsible for those injuries, or even been accused of causing them?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Added to the audio clip it is pretty damning

So much so that his own sponsors dropped him like a hot potato
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Only if you decide to let it be damning.

A lack of evidence essentially means there is not enough evidence to prove he did what he is accused of.

---

That's not the same thing as being investigated and being found innocent - at least as far as the public is concerned.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

He wouldnt be guilty in the eyes of the law after a thorough investigation.

That should be enough for the general public given the circumstances
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't think it will be. That recording is pretty disturbing. Which is why I don't think he will play for United again
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Its just how we spoke to each other. Id never force anyone to do anything, however i can appreciate how it came across.

I just want to thank all of my friends, family, supporters and the club for supporting me during this terrible time, and get on with my career. Onwards and upwards.

if he said something like this, the majority of the general public would drop it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I doubt they would. I think that it would take something from Harriet to even start to shift the view of the general public. But even if they did, that doesn't mean that he would play for the club again. Women's rights groups are going to be all over this story if no charges are brought. Sponsors aren't going to want to be associated with him, as we have already seen. The club will have to weigh up whether the cost of the damage to the club's reputation is worth his value as a player - especially if/when sponsors start to cancel deals with us. I just can't see it happening, but it might.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Why would womens rights groups be all over him If it was explained as naive behaviour from them both?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But one party got beat the chit out of and was forced to do something they didn't want to while the other party was the aggressor, not both being naive
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Where they?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes

No; no they wouldn’t, and rightly so.

Because I don't think most people will believe that it is anything other than what it sounds like. He isn't that good an actor.

I havent seen anything online re the case from womens rights groups
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Well they aren't going to be up in arms about something that hasn't happened yet are they? If charges aren't brought but United keep him and start playing him, I'd expect that to change quickly.

I would expect that most if not all of the UTD women's football team would not be happy if Greenwood was to return under those circumstances

I’m sure the majority of the general public are now firmly behind Prince Andrew following the result of his civil lawsuit, which didn’t find him guilty of any crime.

Good point Cal. It would be incredibly naive to assume that there won't be a huge backlash if he is integrated back into the United team.

We shall see.

I really think some of you guys are catastrophising.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

I'd call it being realistic. The only thing that would prevent a backlash is if she comes out and says it was just a s3x game. And considering that hasn't yet happened, it seems unlikely that it will happen now.
