How do you define that though? Bissouma went for £25m. McGuire went for £80m….
Ultimately we’ve got a PL proven player, who scored one goal in three games on average for a pretty poor Everton. He’s an international, who probably hasn’t peaked yet, and offers us cover across a number of positions and, quality wise, isn’t much of a drop off in terms of what we have.
World class player? No. But then we don’t pay world class prices, and £50m (with add one) really does not seem to me to be that over the top.
