Wouldn't say I like the bloke but I like that he makes things more entertaining and has people like me interested in watching his matches. The Fed/Nadal/Djok era is coming to and end and they made the men's game interesting with their quality and rivalry. Since it doesn't look like like anyone is going to replace them, then we just have to settle for entertainment in this form.

Yeah they don't like it when someone from a less privileged background does well at Wimbledon. That's why grass court prices are so ridiculously expensive at all levels. If England ever want to have a successful tennis player then they need to do what they have been doing in football for the past 20 years or so and make the sport more accessible to young urban gentlemen. Imagine someone like Rashford playing tennis. Big, powerful, quick, agile. Yet they only let young Harry Maguires into tennis clubs. I'm not saying that English tennis is racist, but.

Well I can only speak from experience, and I wanted to play Tennis. And there was just no encouragement unless you were from a certain background.
Dreams got crushed early, but never stop me playing for a local club, just you knew it wasn’t gonna go anywhere.

Just play, have fun, go home.

The Scottish have done the same with golf.

They make me sick.

Got a couple here in the really posh areas. Very expensive but going to bite the bullet and play soon. Used to play squash at a high level and also tennis so the perfect sport for me. Would you like a game??

If you spit at someone, you are nothing more than a sewer rat and deserve to be treated as such. Used to quite like the guy, but after that he can perish

Just saw his latest post match. Embarrassing from the interviewers. Clearly trying to antagonise and craft a story out of him

He admitted to spitting on a fan in the crowd who was disrespecting him…

No he didn’t. And the video evidence doesn’t show him spitting on anyone

I don’t know mate - he got fined £8k for it and if you just Google “Kyrgios spit”, it comes up with a few dozen sources (some of which are your well-known, reputable sources like the BBC, Sky, the independent, et al.) that suggest he did spit and sought to defend himself with the argument that the fan(s) provoked him by verbally abusing him.

Verbal abuse is never okay and I wouldn’t have taken issue with him if he gave it back or, hell, even lashed out at the guy if it was that bad and persistent, but spitting is just lower than low in my books.

As I say, used to be a fan and found him thoroughly entertaining, but this latest episode has me questioning my first impressions

He did spit. The argument is that he didn't spit "on" someone but "in their direction". I don't think it was that near. Not that that's acceptable behaviour, but it's quite different from spitting on somebody.

posted on 4/7/22

He spat in someone’s direction but nowhere near the actual guy, it’s shown clearly in the video. Spitting is disgusting and I never see tennis players do it so that’s probably why he got fined. I find it hard to believe he wouldn’t be hit with a lengthy ban and automatic disqualification from Wimbledon if he actually purposely spat on someone

Can’t see past dull old Novak tbh.

Hoping for a Norrie-Nadal final but it’s unlikely. Would like Kyrgios to win it, if Nadal doesn’t.

Hopefully we'll get a Nadal and Norrie final. I can see Sinner beating Djokovic.
